Actually the text below is just a quote from another thread.

Anyhow, many people in trance scene know about plur attitude and its used commonly also in this forum. Now the question goes, are these just words that became like a slogan or is there really a deeper concept behind them? Discuss... Here's my opinion about the issue:

PLUR. Ok, surely plur attitude still exists, the question is to what extent. Its easy to say or type plur, but to take it to practice is another thing. Anyhow, too often plur seems to be just empty words people spit out without thinking about the concept itself. To have plur attitude is not an easy task, one needs to be rational and emotional at the same time to succeed in it and thats exavtly what makes it so hard, these two concepts often contradict with each others. Anyhow, I think its enough if people would really take some time to think what plur really means and if people would do their best to try to follow this concept. Its a deep concept even though its often being used too casually. It takes much self control to have this attitude.

I think that we have to say it and mean it,while we write posts on isra and especially the time we dance and gather alltogeter as one(unity)but if we want unity we must respect eachother, and if we wanna respect we must love, and if we put those three important values mixed together(love, unity, respect)comes another one, the word peace...so the one value is depended to other....
it is not so hard to control it as I believe, personally plur for me comes natural and I dont have to push my self for such as those values ...peace I am sooo peacefull, love I always have unconditional love within me for everybody and anything around me,unity I feel one of the most unique persons, respect hmm here is the only point that I might be little difficult and that happens when someone dont respect me...

For sure is the most common slogan but for sure there is a deeper meaning,if we feel plur deep we dont need to follow any kind of religious dogmas, plur is almost everything we need for kind values.

I didn't say that it exists. Text I used is a quote from something else I wrote in another thread with completely different topic.

Well, I'm in this scene for the heavenly music and the great people. For me the music is a guide into the best emotive rollercoasterrides. The philiosophy behind the music appeals to me, but I can't truly live it, and guess I don't want to either. That's why this music is a great escape from day to day life. Don't want to sound ignorant, but what exactly does PLUR stand for?

To me, this Trance culture scene is and always will be based on P.L.U.R.!
P = Peace of mind, peace in your heart & soul.
L = Love! Love for one-another, love of the music, love of this "one of a kind" genre!
U = Unity... for all who celebrate with dance and for those who create the rythm so we can all lose ourselves in motion!
R= (the biggest one of all!) RESPECT!! Respect to the Artist(s) that CREATE each and every track for us! Respect to the industry as a whole & actually BUY the Cd's, not D/L!

Last but not least... respect for the ppl who love a certain style & to the Artists that work their fingers and brains to raw bone for releases!

This is what I believe PLUR stands for.

Peace & Love;

PLUR = Please Let Us Rave?

(yeah guys, strongly beleive that PLUR and genuine Trance culture are indivisible... but year 2006 PLUR (IMHO) should not be cheesy... As one said on this forum "PLUR alone doesn't pay the rent.. So PLUR yes, but awarness as well )

I think:

P: Peace; unilateral and universal peace, a notion which should have been achieved hundreds of years ago, by humankind.

L: Love; love animals, love children, love your family, love your enemy, your friend, your friends’ friend, love one and all.

U: Unity; an amalgamated amalgamation of humankind, all for one and one for all.

R.: Respect; Cherish diversity, practice tolerance.

acidonacid, No, I didn't think of changing the world with plur attitude when I started the thread. Just wanted generally discuss what is the concept plur and what it means to people since many people tend to use it rather easily in many comments and situations without giving a second thought what it really is about.
But now that you mentioned changing the world with plur I feel like giving a comment about it. Actually it does change the world when someone adopts plur attitude, its more of a question of proportions. What I mean with this is that if this specific person would not have adopted plur the world around him/her would be slightly different. This naturally works other way round as well. When more and more people will adopt the same concept the effect can be seen more clearly. Naturally its a bit of utopia to think that this concept would really change the world in political sense, but nevertheless, everything starts from a scratch so there's nothing wrong in dreaming of better future by adopting plur and taking it to practice, even though I still think its not an easy task. But like I said before, its already a step forwards if people will give it a try and do their best.

well, i was naive to enough to belive that trancers have a disctinctive sence of PLUR and stand out from the others, but it took me a while to realise that it s not always the case. Many discussions with psy trancers led me to the conclusion that some people use the PLUR out of habit or branding. But do not apply it.
the question is not whether you believe in it, but whether you actually apply it in your interaction with people.
