I agree shamanizer, and I belive most people agree with you.
It's basicly called commen sense.
PLUR is "just" the label of a box filled with nice vibes. I dont think "evil" exists in people. Just ignorence.

A little example of practical PLUR:
Me and a friend were at 2004's Boom Festival in Portugal and for 7 days or so we've heard thousands of mentions of the word PLUR and it's derivatives (Bom, Boom, Boom Shankar and stuff like that). We heard how important it is to respect each other and help people around the globe and fight wars, femine, racism and stuff like that. When the festival ended and we had to find some way to get to Madrid we were trying to catch a ride in the exit. We waited for some sort of a ride from 8AM till the evening in the hot Portuguese sun but with no success. People were leaving with sometimes half empty cars, sometimes even with one passenger and nobody stopped us.
Really makes one ponder. It's all shanti shanti when everybody is high, but once the party is over and the chillums are empty, everybody returns to his normal, selfish self.
My 2 cents

You do know how "serial-killah" you look Pavel. Who in their right mind would dare to stop and pick you up? Would you pick your self up?

Good point there. I wouldn't even cough in my own direction.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

But seriously, Pavel, I know exactly what you mean and that's the reason why I started this thread.

If you want a ride (at psy-festival), you need to be accompanied by a girl or two, if possible; gorgeous girl/s ... Believe me you will have a ride towards anywhere in Europe, before you even manage to lift your thumb into the air. Been there, done that .

Smells like a racism/shauvinism to me, doesn't it?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

threads upon threads boil down to one divide - some think this is nothing but music and some others believe there's something more....why dont we start a dedicated thread and thrash this out for good?

I personally believe in PLUR but i confess its not limitless...though in any case, PLUR inside you just cannot be dependent on whether others around u believe in it or not...u either have principles or you dont

Yes! It’s insane; blame the MEN who are driving the cars. I’ve managed to get rides without girls; nonetheless, it’s much easier if you have girls or two by your side.

Discriminating; yes, however it’s the truth. I’ve met people (mostly men), who could cross Europe, in a matter of less then a couple of days, by themselves, just by hitchhiking, some people are really experts at this endeavor.

When driving to a festival my group of friends always pick up as many people as possible, I’ve noticed that it’s especially tricky to catch a ride at one of the huge festivals, at the smaller ones it’s usually much easier, probably, because the notion of PLUR is more integrated into the mentality of the people who attend the smaller underground festivals. Or, maybe too many people have their thumps up in the air at the large festivals.

the thing about "plur" is 100 people actually understand what it is and what it stands for and actually have their whole theory behind it and stand for it...

and there are 10000 others who keep sayin plur this plur that but at the end of it...exactly as pavel said :

Precisely my point. PLUR doesn't mean anything to me in the music. Outside the music it does, but it's called common sense like someone already said.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Hmm, I understand your point of view, but is plur really that common nowadays, is it really common sense? I don't want to get stuck on terminology, but its a matter of proportions again. You might feel plur with people who are close to you, with so called inner circle, but do you feel the same with "outsiders" who are not that close to you. Well, I guess there's no official definition of plur, but the way I understand it, in trance scene, is much wider concept than just the inner circle. I hope you see my point here, like I said I understand the way you see this issue and respect that.

i would say, plur is the runner-up to the good old enlightenment. as long as you need to say plur and make an effort towards being in that state that is. the goal would be to stay there all the time.

in the music, plur is as you say with the festivals, only possible when the people are gathered in small tribes who are seeking the same goals.

when the tribes grow bigger & more diverse, the goals grow different too, and you get the ones who are "just in it for the drugs & music," which is fine, as long as there is respect.

the cost of being nice to one another and not puking in each others faces is low, and it feels better for everyone if people would be nice, not only at festivals but in life in general.

we have developed a typical materialistic attitude worldwide, which it would seem is the one to be striving for. small tribes are united in oppression to one another, not in love:)

like, war-oppression-unity-disrespect.

check one of the worlds most popular genre of music (atleast most tv-broadcasted): hip-hop\rnb -> a genre built on disrespect, sex without love & materialism.

weird.

so plur man, yes it does mean lots, but i guess it takes a little bit of effort to get going, and one thing is losing jealousy (sorry for my bad spelling) to the ones that control the world. which means not giving a fuck. and not giving a fuck while still caring is a hard state to put oneself in, and even harder to stay in.

so plur is utopic. but utopias should be a goal to strive for, because with the "ah, it`ll never work" attitude, one gains little.

i think ghandi also said "be the change you want to see in the world," which is hard-core to say and mean, and aldous huxley said something like "the only part of the universe you can change is yourself." those two were kind of nice people, so ill quote them with assuranse that theire words weigh heavier than mine.

love.
no wait, plur, why not
