Interesting conversation... Well psydubient, your musical taste is a peculiar one...And I must say I have more or less the same taste in music with you. But, you must see behind the massive and commercialised mist of "trance" and "psychedelic". These are only words, and they are nowadays commonly used to express typical music for promotional purposes. The "true" psychedelic music, is unique for each of us. It's what makes "YOU" feel they way you only know... Do not expect a massive event or acceptance, of the music you believe is the purest in terms of "psychedelia". Few people truly enjoy or even understand the values of "exosomatic experience" through psychedelic music. Do not get angry or frustrated with other people, they are just misled. And so are you, if you believe in a psychedelic "commune". I had the same worries some time ago, but the urban reality can quickly crush your vivid imagination. And I would like to end with some lyrics from a "psychedelic rock" band...

Dear other-reality respect to your words.
But I don't ask from anyone to follow me to a community I have already friends that believe at the same things and without being hippies I'll tell you that we are going very well.
Please try to start again from where you left your dreamer-self.Believe me you don't regret.
I will finish very soon mechanical engineering
but the technocracy,the practicality and the realism of my university will not prevent me to stay a dreamer.
hope you've understand.I could say more but I hate writing my ideas in english.It's difficult.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you claim that progressive is not psychedelic. Some progressive is far more psychedelic and hypnotic than anything you can find in the so-called "psy" scene these days.
But then how can you claim that you listen to trance? Trance = A state of mind obtained by repetetive beats (as original used by native tribes).
I hardly find anything remotely equaling trance in any psy or full on today. Progressive (mostly progressive house/tibal house and some progressive trance) on the other hand is by far taking the music back to it's roots allowing repetiveness, percussion, ethnic athmospheres and deepness to be the keywords... just like it was earlier in the 90's when true trance was made !!!
Today's "trance" music is a joke in terms of claiming it's trance.. IT's NOT - It's popmusic and certantly NOT hypnotic in any way! That's maybe why so many people today use more and more drugs to find that state of mind instead as people used to do suport the music with drugs 
And before you start to tell me I know nothing about this subject I can tell you I'm properly one of the few left in this scene that actually still know what tribal and hypnotic is |

I will go with the words of Iraklis,psychedelic is everywhere and can not be defined ESPECIALY with words 
I will go with the words of HandA also...
Progressive alternative trance based on beat with minimal sounds can be much more psychedelic than many full on acts of today...
And i will go with my words now... commercialism isn't nececary to kill the spirit and the underground feeling within us...
The doors became commercial,pinc floyd became commercial,public enemy became commercial...I think that they just reached a point that made their music more acceptable
for a wider audience and IMO this is just great. |

Progressive house?
Tribal house?
Each one is different from the others.
I also like the tribal beat a lot!
I’ve never said to someone and I will never say that he doesn’t know anything about a subject because for the one person that I’m sure about what he knows is me and I know very very little things.
This which I said was my opinion about which artists from trance scene I think that they are psychedelic.
And that I DON”T HAVE THE CHANCE TO HEAR THEM IN MY COUNTRY!
AND THAT”S UNFAIR!BECAUSE THEY CREATE EXCELLENT MUSIC!
THEY ARE GREAT!THEY MAKE GREAT ALBUMS EACH YEAR!
EVEN IF THEY ARE OLD THEIR MUSIC IS FRESH!
THEY DO WHAT THEY LIKE AND THAT”S WHY THEY DO IT RIGHT!
YES IF I COULD CREATE MUSIC I WOULD LIKE TO CREATE MUSIC LIKE THEM!
Also each scene,pop,rock,reggae(dub),jazz,house and others has its own psychedelic artists.
I’m hearing psychedelic music!I don’t hear trance,metal,rock,pop,ethnic,African, reggae(dub),jazz,house,techno,hip,hop,downtempo,chill out,freestyle,drum'n'bass or how else you label the music!

After a lot of thinking last night I decided to write the following post.
I’m not sure if I’ll regret for this later but I don’t care.
So I think that my post “Please stop…” was a terrible mistake and I’ll explain why.
First of all I was very aggressive and very absolute from the beginning.
Then I tried to force people what to like and not.
As I was thinking about that I’ve understand that the taste of things is something different for everyone.
For me the most psychedelic sounds are the sounds of nature,that’s why I prefer the artists that I mentioned.
For another person could be the noise of the city,the factories etc that’s why he likes industrial and more heavy sounds.
Yes psychedelia is where you want to find it!
Second my post was a wrong way to complain about that I can’t hear the music that I love in my country and this still remains my problem.
Please come to my position.How would be if there wasn’t any party for your taste?
So I would like ask sorry from some of you,especially you CRX.
Please Detox delete again my post where I say “Meditation for xxx…”
I don’t find it funny I find it stupid.
I decided to do some things for myself so I’ll become a better person.
Some of you know what it is.;-)

This thing with the connection between bpm and heart its a myth...
most psy is between 140-148.
average human heart rate is between 70-75
but each time the heart beats there are actually two beats... so a heart rate of 70 actually means that it makes 140 beats a minute.
but think about when you dance
does your heart beat stays at normal levels?
...I don't think so...
let's say that my pulse goes to 90
I must hear trance in 180 bpm?

Thank you for this thread psydubient! Had a good laughs for sure!
Reading through this post was like reading through a sad love story about a girl named "psydubient" (dunno if you are indeed female, I'm just ordering the "cast") that got dumped by her boyfriend (today's psy-trance...mostly bad but with a tiny bit of good in it), and instead of moving on in her life, she chooses to freak out and remember the good old days she had with her old boyfriend who by the way is long gone, never to come back. She does not understand why she got dumped since she practised all the "good house keeping" and followed the "guidelines" that a good girlfriend should follow.
She was left confused, alone and with her heart broken (sob...sob...someone pass me a tissue please...sob...sob)
But thankfully one day, our female hero realises that she's going to do something for her self and change her life (hopefully) for the best.
THE END.
Whether you like it or not and just like all things in life, the music has changed and so have the parties and the crowd that attends them. This is like a big ocean and you, me, everyone else, are nothing but little fish that are part of it and swim in it.
Although we can either choose to "go with flow" and enjoy the ride, or swim against the strong streams because some of us believe that only "dead fish go with the flow", we can do nothing to change the massive currents that "forge" the big sea.
Once again, I am not laughing at this thread, but with this thread. Don't mean any disrespect to you mate.
Cherish you music, meditate for as long as you want, take loads of drugs and go outside and hug a few trees if that makes you happy.
But let the others cherish their music as well and live their lives the way they want to.

Irony is included in a melangholic way though and it is not offensive for sure.

To talk about music now...i used to find astral projection very psychedelic back on 1996,but,i can find psychedelic within haldolium music nowdays.
