one more thing i would like to say -
everyone here has been talking as if the moment you stop downloading illegal stuff, you will no longer have good music or good tools. this is simply not true - so many free software options these days, and netlabels springing up like mushroom. even many established labels and artists release free music all the time.
you can make music for years on mostly free tools, and can satisfy all your listening fetishes with legally free music.
i am saying is more respect can be payed to the scene - enjoy what is offered for free, and if you want something that is not free consider purchsing.

this topic really got me thinkin whats the future of all of this? the whole world is one big fuc***g DOWNLOAD! Internet is the future, maybe there soon will be internet parties with people who are listening music on mp3 players..?!? 99% djs in serbia are downloading music from the interenet... music are buying only real collectionarists (those 1%)... this is how the thing are... in the end, i live in the corrupted country, so, i don't have right to talk in here, i mean about the essence of the topic....

I can wright down that i will NEVER dl any Psytrance music.... cozīi havenīt done that in 2 years or something (exept some free VAīs from Triplag) But thatīs legal 
(And for some reason I get added by artists and they are sending my stuff that I shall listen to... so I get my music anyway)
But I will NEVER stop dl:ing movies... cozī I want to see the movie first... and then Iīll buy it l8r on if itīs worth it... I want the original of something that I like... not something burnt out on a ugly silverdisc with my own handwriting on...
But I think dl:ing music is a good thing also cozīmany artists that you would never heard of (cozīyou didnīt have enough money to but the cd etc etc) you now have the chance to hear and afterwards buy it if you enjoyed it enough... Also, itīs free PR... If it wasnīt for the internet and p2p sharing... I wouldnīt had been familiar to 1/10 of all artsts Iīm familiar to now...
Everything has 2 sides... also... older studies when the tape came and VHS, everyone thought that it was the ending for the Rec labels etc cozīyou could just copy the album/video to an tape... and what happened? NOTHING! Everything went on as usual... they invented the CD and DVD... and when CDrīs and DVDrīs came, the same hysteria began once again... but I havenīt seen the Industri die yet?? And now there coming up with new formats as HD and Blueray... This will only continue as it always has done... and donīt thnk the industri will die out this time either...
But if thereīs popping up Rec labels efter labels and new artists after new ones, then the "competition" gets harder and the sales gets effected...
Thereīs no money in this for me... but it is not the reason why I do this... it is for my own pleasure, and that someone wanted/wants to rls my shit was/is not my "fault" 
And I donīt do it to try and get gigīs so I can earn any money from that... cozīI have "stagefreight" or whatever it is called.
So Iīm doing it purely for the fun sake, and for my own pleasure... Money isnīt everything in this fucking world...

cool tas your views are sollid and i agree with most of it... again i decided to do it not only because of sales or not, i just think you can find good free alternatives these days and there is no need for mass downloading. hell i dont even mind my stuff is shared and its even flattering. i doubt anything i sell has been directly affected by sharing, but i do think in general it leads to a degrading of the whole scene.
i know from now on the music and tools i do get
will be much more charished and appreciated here, because i had to specialy get them, and its not just one of a million files in an incoming folder.
its funny a couple of people have bashed me on msn in regards to this saying i am greedy... in my opinion bieng greedy is the mentality of "i need ALL the new plugins and ALL the unrl killer boom wav music and ALL the 0day releases". if anything, that is greed.

petition rejected- guys theres more important things to think about in this world, then downloading music/software. it will never stop. let it take its course and well see what happens in 10 years. also i dont know if its just me, but it seems psy trance doesnt make money off cd sales, but off parties/festivals, and drugs , if it makes any, only because its "underground"-not talking about the whole world. so the sceene is beautiful right now, please dont put on any restrictions on us , if people download who cares, if people dont Great. for me because i download new artists, many times it made me want to go to fest / party. so there you go music was made to enjoi do whatever you wish with it. spread it like a virus. |

This is not the way to do it, use the internet to get your name and your songs out. When enough people download your music you will get requests for gigs and people will actually use their money to hear you live.
Stopping piracy is impossible, but you can use it for what its worth and do something different. Go around the labels and sell tracks yourself from your homepage for some $, paypal makes this very easy these days..
Release some on cd`s also, to get your music out to even more people. Most artists just copy all the software anyway, so who cares ?
Most people who make psy doesnt do it for money anyway, make some tiesto trance style if you are a $$$ freak.
Embrace the technology, dont be afraid of it.. There is thousands of potential listeneres at anytime, worldwide --> NOW.
