Parties in Alaska?

Hello everyone, I live in Alaska, and to my knowledge there aren't many parties happening here, but if there are a group of people who party in Alaska, I would really appreciate it if someone can give me a reply back, or if anyone can tell me anything they know about partying in AK, the scene here is rather shallow, and I would like to boost it up a bit, plus having a group of fellow psytrance or just good music is always a good thing to have. Thank you for any help

i don't mean to sound too discouraging, but i have never heard of anything going on in alaska psytrance-wise. if there are any trance parties going on up there, i would think that they would probably be listed on http://www.spraci.com/areas/usa/alaska/ . i know that there are a few 'rave'-type events up there, but i couldn't find anything that was psy-specific..           michael

Danjelerum,
It's great to see that there are people who listen to Psy-Trance in Alaska. If you feel nothing "psy" is going on there maybe you can create a following by exposing it to others. If nobody is seriously doing it, you could be a pioneer and try to build a scene. Good Luck!

sage2012, and PsyFire. Thank you very much for these thoughts, this is exactly what I was looking for. The site sage gave will help me out very much, and am thinking of setting up a site where other Psyfriends from Alaska can go to. Thanks for the encouragement and if nothing works out in AK, then I hope to meet up with you at an event one of these days.

I am glad that there are some humourous topics popping up from time to time in this forum!

But, seriously, this is a perfect chance to build something from the ground up. Should be exciting. Good luck!

I'm moving to alaska (more specifically talkeetna) early next year.

The natural environment there really interests me. I'm still really new to psytrance, but I'm gettin there...lol.

I'd be interested in meeting some people.

AlaskA!!! wow, super!! Would love to go for a party there!!=)=)...Boom!!           There are three side effects of acid. Enchanced long term memory, decreased short term memory, and I forget the third.

Talkeetna is a cool place, out in the boonies if its reclusion you are looking for.. you will find it there. Lately we have been seeing lots of beautiful Northern Lights, but unfortunately only for brief periods of time the clouds have been a nuisance. theres not many people that I have talked to that listen to Psytrance, so it is unfortunate in that aspect, but relatively cool in another because you get to expose these people to it. Some can't seem to handle it, but they have there reasons for the time, and always come back asking for me to burn them a cd. I'm not so sure if my future involves Alaska so much, but if you stay on this forum keep me up to date, and who knows.. maybe we will host a party this spring and introduce alot of cool people to this scene.

i spent a month in alaska a couple summers ago, it is one of the most beautiful places i've ever been. it really would be a great place for a summer festival!

could you be of assistance in this thread? http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php?topic=24052&forum=13

You hit it right on the noggin! I plan on metamorphosing into a brown recluse when I get there . I'll probably end up waiting until mid july (or later) to embark on my journey from NC to AK.

The Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival happens the first weekend of August. A friend in talkeetna told me that there was a "techno" area set up at the festival in 2002. He said that a guy was throwing a daggone party right out the back of a uhaul rent-a-truck. Maybe someone can talk to the festival producers and organize something like this again next year. http://www.talkeetnabluegrass.com/

Other than that, I was only able to find a couple of handfuls of websites relating to AK EDM culture... none of them being psytrance related. AK seems kinda "newbie"

I think Blue Spectral Monkey (dj, artist- http://www.orangebrainunlimited.com/contributors/blue-spectral-monkey/index.html ) of T.O.U.C.H Samadhi ( http://www.touchsamadhi.com ) knows a dj that either lives in Anchorage or just played a party while he was there.

I think BSM is on this board.

ahh to AK
