My mother is totaly into trance. She likes guitars (Skazi style),comes to my party and dances like crazy, but my sister hate's it. She likes only a few tracks (Etnica - Trip tonite, but we all love that track). |

My father are musician, but dont like trance so much, he was a Hippie, just like some tunes from Infected Mushroom and Shpongle....hehehehe |

my dad and rest of family just shakes head, but great xperience was doing a bdayparty for a driend, sarah in parentsd garden odf another friend,his totall y drunken dad, who is music fanatic by his own having like 40000lps and singles from 60ties to seventies, also listening to jefferson and pink floyd and so on startet like why always same track evrytime just boom boom boom.... and we startet to speak the sounds whtith our mouthes like but dont you hear its like chick chick chicka chk whooooooooooooooooom sizzle........ and he answered yes evrytime just booom booom boooom.... lol

I've only started to listen to trance often after I moved out of their house, but my parents...
Well, my mother simply doesn't like the beat.She listens to music for relaxing only and trance doesn't work for her : |
My dad,well,he doesn't usually complain wich makes me believe that if I had the opportunity to show him some of my stuff he'd end up liking it...he likes karftwerk so...who knows,maybe I'll burn him a comp+ilation of mine one of these days 
My sister...I was able to teach her to appreciate punk when I was 15, and more heavy music(not exactly metal) when I was 17...but trance,I know she'll never like it :| I suppose it's her right not to :| |

it was fun to read the answers in this topic...
my dad does not understand very well. he is worried with drugs and think there's a strong relation with the music... (is he wrong?)
but I try to talk to him and show pics of parties, and put some music... in order to show how beautiful trance can be. one day he will get it

well, they havent had (I listen to Goa and Psytrance since 10 years...) any problems with it, I also conviced them that (most) electronic music isnt a thing you can click together in a matter of minutes.
I also made a best of ambient/chill out MP3-CD with 60 Tracks as a christmas present for my mother (56) and she really likes it 
Lets see how she likes Hallucinogen in Dub, gonna hand it over to her in 5 minutes....
