i dont listen to trance in any other place than parties...play classical, latino, pop at home...but at parties dance like mad, and truly enjoy each element...have a philosophy that i want to be 'fresh', as a dancer, to each sound...to be totally responsive...am i selfish? or a fake trancer?

good policy
your experience will probably be more vivid and and dacemoves more free! Someone here said that you stop enjoying the music once you become a DJ/producer and I guess there is some truth in that. Recognising a track takes something away from the depth of it. All the best with your plan! See u on the dancefloooor!

personally, as a DJ and producer I enjoy the music MORE!

But, to each their own!

If thats what makes you happy, go for it!           .

wow..can u suggest me few...would like to play some non-party psy while not giving much importance to the music (like playing a boardgame). Usually i find trance an individual, very involving music.

What about party-psy though...am i ok to not listen at home/buy it? just dance

Probably Trance is just an instatement for you wile for others its part of their way of life.

v.v2: Trance is there for you to enjoy any time any place you like. Don't worry about being 'fake' or whatever.
When I was new to it I never listened to it outside a party, which made the experience even more mysterious and trippy.
These days I rarely go to parties but listen to it more at home (but I'm very selective).

You stop listening to trance once you realize it's one of the worse music styles, that meant to be played at parties only.

Not at all
Selfish ? I think you be more giving at a party than anyone else .. because people normally when they've heard the track or are familiar with what the dj is playing tend to become static and dance less .. depends actually .. like i wouldnt stop dancing if the tune is familiar Either way i think you'll do more justice to the music and the party in general           missing plug-in

Well, i usually only listen to the chilled out scene at home. Mostly, stuff from Ultimae Recs, Dj Pathaan and the like, Jazz and Bach. But at parties, i barely step outta the main room. Dont really go into the second rooms etc..
So i kinda get what u mean..           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

@ exotic... you might not stop dancing... but if the DJ is taking you on a 'voyage' (Which is what it really should be) ... hearing something familiar just brings you back to reality. Especially if the track in question is something that you've heard in your bedroom, or over and over again on your ipod. Whereas if you keep your experience limited to parties, then even if you do recognise something from another dancefloor, it'll take you to back to another surreal place and time.
does it happen to you?

I'm being a bit romantic, but it does work with me to a good extent. And going back to think about it, the reason I started listening to psytrance outside that first party, was to relive that experience over again.

It just comes down to how patient you are & how much you want psy to be part of your daily life.

Respect to v.v2 for being the way he/she is. Keeping the experience fantastic and associating it with another world.... lets see how long you can last though
