hi ,
i just thought that i could start a small topic here and ask who will be there in india this winter. i decided to be there in the winter, prepared myself mentally for too long in europe (after the last kumbha mela 3 years ago) but now it is time to see mother india again. not sure how long but longer than the last time.
and i actually dont really want to travel alone. after so many years that i spent abroad and in different places, i suddently realized that i dont wanna do another try alone. it would be great to travel together with more people.
may be some of you plans to be in northern india? the mountains?
if yes , i would be happy if you contact me or write here.
my starting point is berlin.

is there anyone who can give me some information about the proper way to travel alone in india - like for instance a website with a list of objects you need in the mountains if you travel alone? it would be more than great if someone can give me that.
i actually never travelled like that in the mountains of india alone. is it safe ? is it safe to move on foot?
well anyway it will be a more heroic way to die in the himalaya instead of dying under the attack of alqaida next week in europe. but just in case someone knows, i will be very happy about it.
about all who will be there- i will be happy to meet you but since i am more shy than i ever show in isratrance, i prefer to be contacted and not to contact. so if anyone has an interest - welcome to contact me.
i start from delhi. then i go to rishikesh and then to the mountains. does anyone have an idea if i can make it from rikihesh to tibet????

i see a road on google maps but i dont really know how good is this road and is it possible to walk there from rishikesh up to the mountains or is it better to get east with a vehicle and go round the mountains from the other side.....
a bit concenred about if i can make it. i am not in my best years for long roads in the mountains with a bag. i have back problems. without a bag it could be ok.

where exactly do u want to go from rishikesh as there are tens of roads heading in the hills in diffrent directions from rishikesh
the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!! |

your quest , as is with most `seekers` , most likely will end in a seedy mcleodganj motel smoking the good stuff with a group of slackers moki , u may chose though , to do your bit for tibet by buying overpriced bad quality tshirts from a hippy trinket and chillum store , have fun in india
(odds are t shirt will also most likely end up as a saafi before you wind up) .. mind it
