so many progressive acts have gone fluffy with their obligatory "dub" chords. Not saying this is bad music, but i agree there is very little dark progressive music and personally, this is the style i live for.

I loooooooved this thread... I've heard so much blablabla about full-on and hvnt really seen pp thinking the progressive stuff (great to see it got so much atention in just a couple of days, yes Ravergirl, ur hot hehehe)...

Ravergirl, be welcome to full-on

well even though we differ in music styles I perceived the same thing as u did. I've been complaining about the proggy bites over morning time... I love morning full-on.

And I hate full-on as a name... morning full-on is at the most half-on hahaha

I've always loved goa trance... in my humble opnion morning "full-on" is the closest it gets.

I don't agree the missing of night tunes is a producers problem. I liv that stuff in my life for years now... I started out studing filosophy, than movie making and now I work with publicity... If pp are doing morning tunes cause they wanna be booked they will never be but shadows... I wanna see the guy who comes and say: I'm gonna make night tunes and bring the audience back to night time

And that is it. Even more when u know producers generally make music also, so... there is no real distintion on that matter... Generally, all are djs, but some throw partys of their own.

Well I tried my best not to be off topic here... I'll post it anyway... if u need, stamp me right away...

Kaz you described my thoughts perfectly (as always).
I want night music, slow, psychedelic, creepy. I don't want to hear morning melodies at 3 a.m. This is why I'm also one of this crowd that arrived late now. Cause the night just isn't worth it.

Organizers, build a line-up, let the party have a story. Artists, don't move to the commercial side of it. I also was a fan of Shiva Chandra, until his last album (which I did not like at all!!!).
As Kaz said, it's a vicious circle. If organizers will make the right night line-up, people will come early.

Thank you Drope. I also like full on in the morning, after a good night set.

Israelis... watch out for Orly and Golan. They gave an excellent night set at last Moksha. Especially Orly.

Tim Sensient, unfortunately, u're one of my few favorite night artists left - simply cause it's almost non existant anymore. Cannot wait for your album.
And sometimes, even if you book a progressive night act (like Oli from M.O.S for example) he'll give u a morning set (during night time). How more annoying can it get?

And Bholenat, Xenonorph is full on, night full on. Not night progressive.

Try Kindzadza,Psycho Micro, Grapes of Wrath,Parasense,Trashlords,etc...they all seem to be making night music...unless your definition of night music is different... also some Penta and Hyper Frequencies..

good list mate...
let me add Trioptimum, Digital Talk, Fungus Funk, Syntax Error, The Vicious Spiral, Psyfactor, Para Halu, Phyx, Xatric, Azax Syndrom & the list goes on...so many freaky, twisted, dark psychedelic tunes out there...I really don't understand why ppl want to listen to low bpm proggy music at night, but hey, it's a matter of taste...
anyway, as you can see the night time music is alive and kickin' and here to stay !!!
Candy, when ever you had enough of the proggy side, you are always welcome to listen to me play these tunes at night time...

from my point of view artists sick of making night progressive (its been 3 or 4 years of progressive age so far).
and 3-4 years is fairly enough for this genre

Kindzadza,Psycho Micro, Grapes of Wrath,Parasense,Trashlords are good for night but far from being progressive (its just a random psychedelic disordered noise)

but i belive that there is muh of progies in German and Sweedish sceene

anyway progressive night turning to be deep house like and loosing psychedelic effect thats why i think its dieing

and candy orginisers do progressive parties in israel (like domo and moksha) but it more looks like clubers parties with "chillout" (MOS/Shiva Shandra/Ticon/Son Kite like) mornings that make me feel like i'm at caffe del mar at ibiza at 9 am

Jesus didnt dance, but his beat goes on

5meo-geo - i wasnt call moksha progressive party org, coze bring one prog act and fill rest of line up with full on de bone bone its not a prog partym, for me prog party is party where progressive music played from start to end, or at least 80% of time.
and im second myself again - uptoday i dont know more dark and hypnotic music than music that released on imago rec, yes, this is not so trance, but who give a fuck about names!! tune in, coze its body rock!!           Believe your soul !

bholenath:
of course....how could I forget Psykovsky the dark psychedelic master!!!
Russian Psy rules the nights IMO.... this is the true karahana !!! and believe it or not, I also like a lot of minimal proggy tunes, but this music is playable (IMHO) only at the begining of a party, or at the late morning hours, meaning after few hours of pumpin' full on, and of course for home listening...
this is how I see things, and I mean the Israeli scene only, cause AFAIK things are a bit different in big parts of Europe.
all in all, I think it's best to keep an open mind, this way one can learn to enjoy many different styles of psy, or any other music for that matter...
cya on the dancefloors...

Ambivalent do issue some really wicked night music ( check out Scorb and I believe they have upcoming album in their sleeve ).. About progressive.. Well I believe that night should be freaky, spooky and non orthodox that will bring the ppl to say 'What the fuck was this just right now or I am really off my tits? '.. Most of the progressive music that came from Scandinavia doesn't bring this twist in it - it is more fluffy and more morning oriented ( yes IMO Noma and KV Kilist in their darker days mostly are morning too - cloudy morning but still morning ).. Shiva Chandra of old and XDream of Radio days, tunes from Twisted label and some Xenomorph indeed, I consider as night music.. Which today is almost gone - it was transferred to either softer sounds going to satisfy the labels and the morning crowd, or to pure 'Hardcore trance' that definitely pleases some ears, but not mine.

But shouldn't we accept it as 'Evolution'?           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

For those who are searching for night progressive, you can check all the Releases from the french label Sub Machine (Intra Muros, Travel Pack & Lighten), there are some dark night proggy artists in the Sub Machine Team like:
Luna Spice,Prismatic,Missing Time, Tone Factory (portuguese ones) & of course Tetraktys.

I also think to another french band :Authentik (aka 3.turn), their productions are very kickin' (they've got an album on D.Drum/Novatekk).
