Heh...I think I found this thread a month too late, but I will reply anyways.

I am happy to see that there are other psytrancers that are also into breaks....I thought I was the only one. I have gotten into the style in the last 1.5 years or so and I have to agree with nectarios that there are many similarities with some of the Swedish-style prog...some of the more smooth, semi-melodic breaks songs mix very well with songs by Son Kite, Ticon, Minilogue, etc...

I just wish I heard more DJs mixing the styles, but breaks seems all-but-ignored in the psy scene in the last years.

And there is also hardly anybody in Germany who likes the style (in or out of the psy scene), aside from some people in Berlin and a couple other small cities.

BTW, if you like the Rollin' & Controllin' single by Silencer, check out their newest one, 'Believing'. It is one of the most blindingly stomping breaks tracks I have ever heard.

The kind of breaks that are "in" nowadays in clublife "outside" Greece, I think that it's very hard to be accepted by Greek clubbers. I enjoy myself alot of this music, esp. the kind of breaks that distinctive records release. Also, music like Fluke, Orbital, Evil nine..is my latest cup of tea. It's good to know some other people are interested as well. Maybe we could gather up and spin 'em off at a club...That would be nice! We don't have to wait only for British Dj's to come, not that I don't like 'em. It's just that music is more accesible nowadays. Anywayz, Im making a kind of "mixture" event on Thursday @ danza, u can see the thread @ http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/80942/forum/17 , and i will probably try to play such music also, if the people seem to accept it that is!           Bring yourselves into the light

There's also greeks on the breakbeat case. Had #1 tunes on Mixmag and DJmag, played over at the biggest dance shows in the world in the UK, like BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, Capital, Ministry Of Sound radio...etc. Had tunes on big compilations like Y4K...etc.
The good thing about breaks is the open mind approach and variety in sound. There's influences from techno, psy-trance, d'n'b, house, dub, even rock! Different people do different things under one genre. Scenes do not get any healthier than that if you ask me.
