Zombi,

I don't understand your opinion, you think trance is 'evolving' or do you think trance artists are changing their paths?

Because that's what it is about I think.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Zombi, where I live, the Netherlands, the situation is exactly as I prescibe. Every club plays the Tiesto stuff and parties with the familiar names attracts 100 thousands (Dancevalley). 604/Psy is pretty obscure and parties are very small, mostly in Amsterdam so to hear the tunes I like I have to travel 150 km.
That might explain our difference in point of view.

i was in amsterdam for a month and from my short expirience i can say that club scene there very sux (sorry, its my opinion, and u say same). music that playing in biggest and "best" clubs very lack of taste one. tiesto and alike very popular there indeed.
but man, club music is way better thing than tiesto and alike. techno and house have offer so much if u will offer yourself to them. just not in netherlands i guess.
todays progressive and deep house scenes very atractive and techno as always kick hard too. just not tiesto. dont know about if u was at others "techno" (dunno why u call tiesto techno, whatever but not techno) but u sure have to try. hamburg or london. or tel aviv.
and anyway u have to repect others and dont speak too much about what u dont, just say what u are about.
leave the bitching to chickens.           Believe your soul !

btw - our club music was hard influenced by amsterdam in the allenbi 58 club era (there things started to boil a years before. house things.) there was a resident dj choopi that brought all this bad taste music from amsterdam clubs.
but things been changed few years ago and british sound kick good at indoor. and much more options in city.           Believe your soul !

some people are asking himselfes why psy artists produce house-progressive and progressive influenced by house/techno and club... then they make themselfes an easy answer and say that the artists want to sell more cds.

if u know how to produce music, and u want to make cash with this, u will surly dont release on a trancelabel.. this for now.

anyway i love influenced progressive and i can clearly see a lot of psychedelic elements within. since the fusion-oa in germany 2000 some djs opend my eyes.
i only can wish some of u the same experience.

You are preaching for your own church, Zombi. I've read some of your reviews and its progressive all the way. Apparantly you dig the style and that is good. Others like me, prefer it served more hallucinogetic instead of hypnotic, which means wicked acid lines, colors, melodic twists and psychedelica. That just isn't dominant in the new technoish/housy style. I find these 2 uninspiring genres which add little to psytrance. Stuff like the new SBK and haldolium go ear in, ear out. I just don't dig it much, it has nearly no elements I find musically appealing.
Like I said, there is a reason why ppl stepped into 604/psy, disappointment with the state of techno/trance and house being surely one of them. Don't expect everybody to embrace the new progressive sound. Heavily borrowing from genres that peaked nearly 10 years ago and didn't really evolve themselves cannot be that innovative.
Furthermore, after fully discovering the whole 604 scene (since 1995) not only musically but surely the outdoor parties with the neo hippie atmosphere makes it very difficult to refresh my interest in techno and house which surrounding elements never appealed to me and I've visited over 30 house/techno parties during the early 90s.
You like it, I don't. So be it. Nothing disrespectful.

"psy" doesn't sell or is not selling enough look at the review section ... tons of progressive alboms (i'm not saying it's bad , i like progressive by myself but some of them are flowed right into housy tunes , something that is not trance at all !!!) - was said by chaka laka.

well my friend, GO and WRITE about stuff u want that will writen there.agree ??
after it listen to house a bit and u will see it have almost nothing with house (if u want i will happy recomend u some good house stuff).
then try to understand - trance is not fomule, its a way to get into trance. have a lot ways.           Believe your soul !

zombi,

trance is a still a genre, and what is wrong to say IMHO is that it is 'evolving' into a new kind of trance music. Because it's not what happening.

Artists that are known in the trance scene, starting making music much closer to other genres than trance. That's the fact now. Not inventing anything here.

IMHO, these artists don't 'evolve' trance into anything. They just live trance at home and go out with some other electronica.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...
