minimal progressive full on? how the fuck does that work. You could easily label Astral P, infected skazi and tons of others who are minimal progreessive full on. The songs usually start out minimal and hypnotik. the a CHORD or NOTE PROGRESSION takes place. Then on the build up its full on. whos to make the call.this genre thing is annoying. how can something be minimal but yet full on.
Get past categorizing it!!!! pretty soon were going to have Progressive Psytrance Full on Minimal hardcore house. where the fuck is this going. and what happened to just calling it goa or psy. in my mind it all trippy. if its all trippy it all must be psychedelic? no?maybe im wrong.

when we say minimal full on we mean minimal trax with definetely full on feeling into it, full on atmosphere and power.
minimal progressive full on - its same but with more clear progress in thems.           Believe your soul !

Maybe its just me but I don't understand the charm of borrowing from uninspirational genres such as techno and house, apart from commercial appeal. Sure, productionwise psyproducers can learn a bit here and there but what else is so damn inspirational about those 2? I don't hear it.
Like many goaheads coming from the metal/rock/alternative scenes, I started spinning the early stuff because it was so UNLIKE techno and house...If I wanted monotone rhythms I would have listened to techno and if I wanted a more commercial club sound I would go for house...but I went for the spiritual, deep melodic stuff instead.
Dead End street that techtrance/progressive stuff imo cause there are already bucketloads of tech/trance/house acts. What is next? Begging to the be on the playlist of a Ferrari driving DJ (in GOA we never cared about DJs much, the artists were the stars, remember?).
This scene is selling its soul...'Progression' is a lame excuse for love of the allmighty $.

got damm , Kaz and some others are so f*ckin right !! "psy" doesn't sell or is not selling enough look at the review section ... tons of progressive alboms (i'm not saying it's bad , i like progressive by myself but some of them are flowed right into housy tunes , something that is not trance at all !!!) and if u make it housy - i don't care how , find some new formula or get back to roots but give us PSYCHODELIA !!! this is what trance was always about , its the bread , the solt , and the SOUL !!!
Triund by Doof records - that what keeps my faight that psy ( and in a very modern shape) is not dead yet ...           Dance is my Trance

Allright.....

I think we can set this thread into a new direction and say our opinions about which act is keeping the faith for us !

for me right now it's North American ppl. They got the soul still           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

and u forget the fact that house dj's play some trance tunes,so this trend is double-directionaly.. jooooon fleming or mark'o'tool, digweed or asi kojak, they all can easely play some tunes that we define as our music.
so open your mind, and be happy we now realy in unite and respect with all ppl around.
i think its great.           Believe your soul !

Sorry mate, I strongly disagree. Those DJs spin what attracts thousands to 100$/€ entrance parties. Did mr.flemming or mr.digweed spin any Pleiadians stuff after they released their superb IFO album? No, of course not. Too freaky...thats not what the ppl wanna hear.
There is a reason why some prefer 604 over the Tiestos...Come on, as if ppl in our scene voluntary travel a lot for parties when there is every weekend a techno party at the corner or order CDs on psyshop rather than buying the instant dance crap from the local seller. 604/Psy is an alternative. Many ppl feel right at home because its completely different than the techno and house scene. And now we should applaud that some bored miljonairs play 'our' music?

Personally, 5 years ago, I couldn't imagine a successful psytrance act in a club set. Could anyone imagine Digweed putting on X-Dream - Panic in Paradise?

Nowadays, house grooves are everywhere - let's be honest guys, even the harder progressive trance acts nowadays "import" grooves from the house world (Necton, Double Dragon)... As a matter of fact, very few progressive artists have that same feeling that everything in their music screams "PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE, LIKE IT OR DON'T LISTEN!"....

... I'll just wait for the Shiva Chandra album this coming march and shut up now.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I think it is normal that artists evolve and change, some might not like the new direction that's normal. Is it psy or is it not anymore ? There we are coming back to what is and what isn't psy.

Some say that Simon P. became very commercial and isn't psy anymore, others think he still is psy. So, who is right ?

I personally could care less, either I like it or not, if he makes more money, - great -, why not ?

i think the only thing that's really happening here is that psy is just becomming a bit more dancefloor friendly. take the storm album as an example. not one of the best albums out there, but if your doing a dj set and it aint going down, drop a track from that album and see what happens...and i'm sure many people on this forum has done so. allways killer!!

if i'm wasted on the dancefloor, nothing psycs me up more than that full-on doom da-da doom da-da grooves...which unfortunately is very house like, but at least the soul of the track will still be psy.

as long as the artist is keeping it real, i have no problem with any trend.

Ever heard about freedom of speech, Zombi? I disagree with your opinion and I sure give some arguments. All I am saying is that if people wanted techno beats and house tunes there was and is plenty available...at every mass party, at every club down the corner...If everything starts to sound the same, I think its gonna be a pretty boring affair. There is a reason why some prefer 604/psy over techno and house...

'better don't speak at all' -> then don't display yourself as oh so respecting other styles and ppl if the first one that disagrees with you should simply shut up...That is egotripping in my book, your opinion is holy and others must agree...

Read my post again, nowhere did I try beat you.

u better stop talk about "nearest corner" coze its corners have very different parties and tunes.
not all club music sounds tiesto and not all techno parties full of ppl who dont know what they like.
i ask u to speak with respect to other styles of music and parties.
do u realy think techno is so commerzial and trance no ??
in country where i live (israeel) trance (psy) way more commerzial than techno, so u should say opposite thingas if u live here..
anyway,i dont respect ppl who say "nearest corner,604,tiesto's,bla bla bla".. coze u dont respect others..           Believe your soul !
