Kri - Save the Spirit
I bring you a new dj mix in the honor of keeping the goa spirit alive. Though this might not be actual goa trance, it is still full on, hard driving and full of melodic madness. I want to remind you of the true spirit of the dance ritual. It really is all about making the dance-floor swirl and reach the highest vibration. Let this be the lit candle in the dark, and remind us that this music is about evolving our consciousness.

Ok before things get to heated!!
I have no crusade against the harder dark sound.
But i just feel that there is so much dark out there that a little light wouldnt hurt
and i didnt say anything about dark music not being good, I happen to like some of it.
the only reason i put non dark psy mix in the title is because of all the posts of dark psy mixes.
I love music as a whole.

lmao @ non-darkpsy mix... Now we have to define our music as what it is not... That seems quite absurd to me. I think there is plenty of parody in this scene as far as light and dark go... Also, I wouldn't exactly say that some of these artists in particular are necessarily keeping alive any "goa spirit". |

also lmao @ "non-dark mix" title, but all in good humor of course! regardless of the type of the mix, i am all about evolution of consciousness, which can be done through dark as well. Without the night, there can be no day.... same goes with Dark and "Light" psytrance. i try to implement more of a power-melodic style of Dark to inspire this evolution through the driving energy contained in the Dark stuff.

Absurd? not absurd ,but kind of nessesary since there is this unofficial " who can be the darkest ,and who can have the most women screaming in one track" personally i am partial to all psytrance and untill the last 4 months or so ive always leaned a lil heavy to the dark sound, but this crap that keeps getting released its unbelievable that it even gets mastered oh well like a good friend said to me one time while mastering tracks " you cant polish a terd"@ kri you should've wrote instead of non -dark- it should have stated full power psychedelic trance mix ( with out the muddy bass and constant screaming" i think the point is .......your head |

Now, this is the problem with being an artist. You put something out their and people don't see or hear it how you do.After all, its just opinions from both the artist and listener.
There is no proof that the Goa Spirit is gone.Unless people think that just because it doesn't sound like it did then its not Goa.Correct me if I'm wrong but there are PsyLabels today in Goa.That's mighty dam close to the Earth source of the Goa Spirit.
I can see in a hundred years or so Goa being the Daughter of God if we keep up with this Dark and Light crap.Wow! another Christ but never in human form.Man, times would be different if it were that way today.A Holy Spirit that never died for our sins and would let humans(artist)choose words for Her by using samples.Church would be great.Think about it??? You would get off work on Friday chill on Saturday.Wake up on Sunday very early because you wouldn't want to be late.Pack all your Church gear up and go.As soon as you get through the doors you'd take a few drops under the tongue of the Goa Holy water....Boom!!! three days later after doing the Gospel Dance you would then go back to work. Holy shit this would mean that we would only have a three day work week. Maybe we should keep this Light and Dark battle up so our kids kids kids kids will have good times.(hehehe)
Couldn't one say that music normally evolves? Goa=Psytrance=Fluffy=Prog=Trama=Neuro=Trance=Sunrise=Morning=Night=Melodic=Fullon= and so on.So Why cant our minds? Get our heads out of the past and evolve to now!!
Here's an idea for Dj's who make mixes with titles or bold statements.....STOP!!!!! Keep your vision statement to yourself then release the mix. Make a contest out of it.You know, let the consumer make a choice of what the title should be after they own it.Just like the Spirit of Goa has done and is still doing. It lets "us" the dancer decide. This would maybe stop man from trying to dictate where Goa is today.
I'll tell you where Goa is right now, My Heart!!!!!

i lol at the whole dark vs. light topic in general.
I'm sure most can agree that it mimics the whole 'chicken vs. the egg' debate. We dont know which came first... they just both exist... and coexist (not as well as I would like, but they coexist nonetheless)
Or better (and more similar)... like someone mentioned... Night vs. Day. It's like the song love and marriage by the late patron Sinatra.

So while I digress further and further I will say this...
Get on the horse and go wild! OR Sit in the carriage like some prude nancy from the colonial 1800s and never part your legs! (rofl)
Dark is just my preference... like many... and none.
3 months ago... was a different story... I was still rocking out to fluff and Goa like it was coolest shit. omfg i <3 yahel keke ^,-... and so on...
NOW: I've matured and so have my tastebuds... I've moved past the 4 and 5 layered tracks and progressed to the deeper and more chaotic sounds. Not to say that Goa is unevolved or anything. It just lacks for some... and is quite repetitive... it reminds me of my candy daze and thats just scary... much scarier than the sound of a zombie's flesh ripping...
I've just changed. And the funniest part is that I'm sober now. And was gonnnnnne in Early November and before.
Ironic.
In summation....
DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS!
Respect other people's Interest! (Let the teenie-boppers roam in their carriages @ 130-140bpm!)
