louder always better.. but the 2 last sound really make the mini don t sound as good to me, still would pick the mini other the old one anyday as i dont care that much for that sound to be spot on like for a 303 or a sh101 and the mini sell new..

yeah hand played shit isn't the best. would prefer the same exact MIDI sequence to be played through them...possibly at the same time? one panned left one panned right?            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

in the mix it will sound great..my xs and most modern analog suffer from this..all newer moogs , 303 clone ect.. it s more sterile sound than vintage stuff, sound that sometimes you can t really tell if it come from something digital or analog as long as you don t use audiorate modulation or don t turn the resonance, (thought jus the osc usually sound better i find but it s noticable only on some patchs... plugins are getting close..)

hard to judge from that vid really. the new one has more presence (which i agree with nectarios is a good thing for our music) than the vintage one, but thats maybe just the age of the components as well. i like how the new one sounds, you would not need much processing to make a good mix with it. to really make up your mind though i would like them to play a midi sequence and fuck about with the resonance and filter cutoff hard to see how them two bitches scream... comparisons aside, the mini is defo one of the most tempting synth on the market now and looks and sounds tasty from this and other vids.           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

are there purchasers here that already thought about the presets management. i see now sometimes people on youtubes using paper to draw presets in, and i have to check the ipad version for storing presets.           http://soundcloud.com/vipal

when it s a new patch i m not familiar i just write a few things on paper..take 2 minutes but i dont really need spot on recall usually..(it s where i use diaphragm or phone pics )

preset make us lazy.. we learn so much more by always repatching the same patchs ect..it make work our brain and in the end we know a lot more programing the synth inside out

theres no hidden features and all the controls are on the front so presets arent really needed

youll learn more about the synth and synthesis
if you work from memory
