Need recommendations on Beatless atmospheric ambient.

Hello guys.
Care for some recommendations. ?
I know of Robert rich but never heard his tunes.. anything i can start with where an album is concerned ? and i also heard of maitreya.. any good ?
more suggestions please.

Try with some artists from Room40 label.I listen couple of them this year live,marvelous atmospheric ambient.Especially Lawrence English.Also check out Tim Hecker and some of the crew from Subtractif and Alien8 labels.From some classic artists lots of Pete Namlook and Klaus Shulze stuff is atmospheric.

You can also try Rainbow Dome Musick by Steve Hillage. It's a classic.

Allright thanks dimitry btw your new progressive sounds are really good 
Just heard the Astropilot - Solar walk again. Totally amazing.

all the 6(!) previous topics about beatless ambient are full of recommendations. also the external links are recommendations i found with "beatless ambient" on google. the links i posted are noteworthy. my post has nothing to do wth a informatic encyclopedia reply which would focus f.e. on the history of ambient or on the etymology of the word itself.
the youtube video stream focuses mostly on pete namlook. he's one of the biggest names in (beatless) ambient.
but i guess all you wanted was a couple of names or albums served on a silver plate
