Hello PSYFOLK!
its been a strange week for me and i wanted to share with u...
my wife of two years now is 'refusing' to listen to psychedelic (ive plugged her up in her sleep with minimal goa - just to have her go ballistic at me when she wakes up with headphones For a year now ive accepted that maybe she just doesnt like the scene associated with the music - but now, after a recent night out; seems like she doesnt like the music associated with the scene. grrrr. This is making me v.confused - as we went to samothraki last year and had a good time, except, she didnt join me on the trancefloor (instead just sunning herself by the sea & meeting people!! WHY?!? I LOVE HER!
is anyone in such a relationship? and if so - how / what do i need to do, so that we can SHARE EVERYTHING!!

sweet

well... honestly, i think you can do almost nothing. if this what she feels then let it be.

but...

maybe you should start let her hearing some chill-out or down tempo tunes... u know.. the special ones that no one can resist ( )
and slowly show her the world of electronic sounds maybe after that she will be more open to trance.

p.s...
plugged her in her sleep???
i think you've seen too many movies           just flow baby... just flow...

I don't think you should care about this too much. Everyone has different tastes. 99.999% of the people in this world probably do not like psy-trance, so it should only be a bonus if you find a mate who does.

My girlfirend of 3 years does not care for any electronic music. I listen to it all the time, but it doesn't do anything for her. This distressed me at first, but then I realized that it doesn't matter. There are plenty of other more important things about her that I like.

It's only music, and chances are your relationship with your wife will outlast your relationship with psy.

Eventually I will do some psychedelics with my girlfriend and play some good music. If she doesn't like it under the influence, then I will just give up =)

A thousand thanks!! Such a simple - yet crafty approach! Ive come across stuff from ultimae Recs and went to see 'aes dana' in london; synergy (i think)? She fell asleep. (i think this means its VERY GOOD chill out!) The last great chill out album was 'hallucinogen in dub' for me!! Sheer Class! bit too short though...           It is by will alone I set my mind in

The sex collumnist in GQ says:
"most women will try everything once and, if you're nice, twice"

Looks like you screwed it up bad.

p.s. I love the part where you say you wish you could come home and find her banging out some israeli trance. Be careful what you wish for my friend (see the film "Maneater" for a good example).

Try covering the bed with rose petals, giving her a gentle massage, cooing softly into her ear and then when she's completely relaxed ask her in plain english if she wouldn't mind you...you know....just once...tell her you'll fastforward to the chill track if its too painful.

Alternatively get her drunk.

hmm divorce her then... god how superficial, if u're seriously worried that u guys dont have the same music tastes, then i dunno...similar tastes are a bonus in a relationship, not a prerequisite...

hmmm this has it benefits henry, for sure, but which track would i use....?
As for the petals (beautiful idea m8) Id have to attempt this during summer time i think - (cheap) rose petals are damn hard to come by in england at the mo & In the summer my neighbours rose bush is open access
