Your partner will not always like your choice of music. Don't fight about it, accept it, and listen on headphones if your partner truly thinks psytrance is not her/his music.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Do what I do - get into making psy trance - if you are lucky and turn out to be as bad at it as I am, then you can constantly play your own tracks all the time - in which case she will be so sick of it that she will be dieing to listen to some good isreali stuff . If that doesnt work - dont loose hope - atleast you will end up with a really crappy albumn of your own music

True love has all to do with respecting eachother's taste and differences

Never try to change the person you love = BIG mistake.

I couldnt agree more with EP, true love is about respecting eachother and learning to accept you you guys are.
A couple have to have diferent tastes o opinions, imagine if you agree in everything and liked everything the same, that relationship would turn boring.

motion.
It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts

The stains become a warning - blah, blah , blah!

Play to her some of the likes such as: "A New Way to Say Hooray"

that track is just sweeeeet! everybody likes Shpongle(don't you guys?)
Hopefully she'll like it and then she'll listen to some more and more, and then SNAP, she'll actually start to undestand the concept of trance.

things could be worse dude.

your wife could be spending her time on sheryl crow forums chatting up all the women there, asking for advice on how to get her deluded husband to take a 5-minute break from the drug-adled music he adores and try to appreciate the genius of sheryl crow's odes to the female spirit.

imagine waking up one morning with the headphones on to:

"Hit it!
This ain't no disco
It ain't no country club either
This is LA!"

Or even better, imagine she breaks out the valentine day's lingerie and massage oil, gets you all hot and bothered, and then whips out the accoustic guitar from under the bed and breaks out into song:

"All I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling I'm not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
Until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard!"

to change her thinking about psy take her to a party and spike her with some acid....let her dance her shoes off and connect with the music...then all u will hear is psy trance and more psy trance

just kidding.....

on a more serious note......
i think ure being pretty selfish dude....why should she change her prefernces to match ures..why cant u change to like what she like???

and so what if she doesnot like psytrance.....donot make it into an ego problem that she should like what u like
let her enjoy her trip and u enjoy ures

bOm shiva!!!!!           At the end there is a DOOR & waiting for you on the other side of that door is either HEAVEN or HELL

I'm also married to a woman that never could listen to trance (in all its forms, from house to psy), yet she is always supportive of my career as A&R and DJ for a trance label. She doesn't dig the scene, drugs or music, but she did join me in several occasions where I played, just for fun of going out to nature or a club.

She does, however, embrace my musical change towards chillout, she loves OTT, Backroom beats and most of the material for my chill project, and I consult her in selecting tracks for it since she represents an undependant ear of someone who's not into the psy sounds. I've learned to count on her taste, which almost completely into classical music, and I know that if she likes a chill track, its going to work for everybody.
She's even been able to dig some of my progressive house tunes (the more loungy/sexy ones), since unlike psy-trance they are more delicate and not so irritating.

So, in my case I've found a way to use the difference in musical tastes by giving me a different approach to chillout. This goes as well with psy-trance, since if she tells me this-or-that track is nice (but she would only like to hear it in a club, not at home!), I know it will rock bigtime.

My only problem is that she doesn't like our kid to go into these musical areas, yet I believe that if he likes psy-trance or house he should be given the chance to listen to it (no loudly, of course).
