I think u dont get the point altogether. I see the connection u make but it is not full, its a bit naive. Most of the people, believe it or not, go to party not because of the music but because of the hype. HYPE.
Most of the people you meet daily in the middle of a shopping mole, if they go out at all, they will go to a HYPED up party line, because mostly, what they want is to get drunk and high and get themselves a one night stand.
That is why Raveolution is a good example. Because HYPE has nothing to do with music. And believing blindly that music will do the natural selection can bring to disasters ( if you are a party organizer for instance )

First Doof wasn't a no. 1 club in Tel Aviv weekly super HYPED party. There fore the reference is irrelevant.

And by the way, you should get a free entrance from Zombi anyway, since you have arranged a longest topic ever for Maxim thursday party line, longer by far than any I remember.

So basically what you're saying is that most people go to the maxim because they want to get laid / high.
It's a good thing I didn't get in eventually. I don't belong in this kind of events anyway and I didn't become a Isratrance member to get laid / high.
I do belong where good music is played (like yours, Yuli  ), and people come to dance and have fun. That's what I've been promoting for years. Please tell me, do such parties still exist? |

Timmy I think you wish to proove you are right so hard, that you miss the point.
The reason that mostly the crowd that is inside Maxim club consist of crazy diggers, that accept electronic music of all kind, is due to the fact that there is selection at the door.
One of the reasons a DJ can play there whatever he / she wants, is because they know for sure that no one will come out of the blue and start nagging for a Skazi track for instance.
And please do not take my words out of their context hehe, altho there are plenty of ppl that go out to drink get high and get laid, and nothing wrong with that, actually its a lot of fun, some come because of the music. And music is a part of all of it - it's a mingling thingie, there are bits of everything in it.

Actually it's a nice and healthy discussion Tzachi, we are polite and make good points. Also making nice promo to Zombi's club..

You're not revealing anything Cyber I've been to (a few) clubs where the vibe was completely different. Maybe that's why I prefer partying elsewhere.
I'm sorry Yuli but I don't agree with you.
I was in the Maxim about 4-5 times. Every time I was there, no one asked me who I am or how old I was. I believe I wasn't the only one who didn't go trough "selection". Has it affected the music? I don't think so.
Moreoever, what if somebody who would "accept" the music didn't pass the selection? what then?
Too bad for him, you say, but I think that's too bad for you. |

if we can put the personal last posts aside for a minute and ask some other very interesting (for me at least) and important questions.
i've been following this thread for a while now, and even- thought, isratrance is a very politiclity correct forum, there are some subjects that with all due respect i think it's one of the biggest irelevant threads ever.
not beacuse everyone involved in this chat say stupid things , just the opposite, everyone shared and explained himself in a very clear interesting way.
what bothers me the most in this thread, and i agree with Yuli here, that even thought your ideal about selection is a true option for nature parties,where music can be used as a very effective filter, it's not correct about club's specialy not weekly line's that works for a long time and try to keep some quality.
WHY ARE YOU AVOIDING THOSE FACTS???
some older (not me hehe) and most probably much more expirienced guys really tried in the last 6 pages to explain what is wrong with your atitude and offered many ways for you to solve this issue.
but it's seems from aside, that the debat and proving you are right, beacame much more important to you than the issue itself( I say that only by the pointless examples that you gave about nature parties and festivals that has nothing to do with a weekly line in center of tel aviv)
it's not a shame to learn from other people expirience, and understand that sometimes you are wrong mate...

very interesting thread indeed. totaly agree with yuli perspective, was really fun to read it
beside that, there is selection in nature parties. i guess usualy no one notice it since its much softer and the amount of people that doesnt get inside is much lower then a club in tel aviv. also the first and the last doof festival did had age limit(21) which was made by the ticket sellers and also was writen in big letters in every promo they did.
