Everybody who supports selection in clubs please read this:
Imagine your favorite artist is coming to Israel from abroad, and he's playing live only one time, and in one club. And of course, you really want to go, and you do.
Finally, you go the club but guy who stands at the gate giving orders is telling you that: "you won't fit in with everyone else". And no, you don't have connections, you're not a member of Isratrance or anything, you just like the music, but that's not good enough.

"Be the change you want to see in the world!"
M.K. Gandhi
Remember who has this phrase on his signature?
Yeah, I know he's not hanging around here much often but Shahar created this website. I learned a lot from his posts. As moderators, he told us "always put yourself in someone else's position. If you're about to delete one post, think how its author would feel about it."

I try to live by those rules.

oh PLEASE...

Stop with the exaggerations already! I'm sorry, but things and life just aren't that black and white. They just aren't. That's reality, face it - and this is why you will never get most of the people who posted to agree with you. They just view the situation from a different perspective (a wider one it would seem to me).

Some clubs are about poza, no doubt about it, and they apply selection in the wrong way (like according to skin colour, which is an irrelevant measurement). But I highly doubt this is the case in hand, though it is quite apparent you are desperate to stick to that point of view.
Selection policy, especially in the world of trance music, is not about facade and about negativity. I think it's actually quite the opposite - it's about taking care of people, and making sure they get the good time they are looking for, just like choosing an artist who will make awsome music.. it's about a responsibility to people that they leave the party happy and content.

You can't rely on music as a people filter, it's too simplistic and frankly disrespectful to the art form. Music is a free thing, it's personal, it's a choice and preferance. It cannot be a filter and it shouldn't be used to make the distinction between good and bad (that's what the police does).
Point is, it really would be wonderful if the world was all butterflies and care bears where everyone was basically good and positive and understood music really well. But please don't tell me you think that's reality. Reality is, there are bad people out there, and they also like the same genre of music as you (note: genre, not sub-genre, not everyone is that music savvy to filter through the differences). It doesn't make them good people who can't do bad things like violence, or just act plain silly and ruin it for others. It's their choice, and it's life - and it's reality that they exist, and that they look for 'trance' (not 'prog trance' or 'full on trance'). Nature parties are underground and unpublicized (well, some), so if you make sure the promotion is under control you can pretty much bet the bad people wont get wind of the party.. but in a regular line of any sort of trance, in a known and accessible club, if you wanna keep such people out you have to find some other way. It's not out of being mean, it's just adapting and trying to make the best out of a not so perfect situation. It's making a commitment to the positive people who just wanna have a pure fun dig.

For me, a good party is the whole deal - it's the musical setting, it's the physical setting and it's the human setting. I can't come to a party and be in a bubble, not relating to the humans around me, I'm not that kind of person. In parties and in everyday life, I feed off the vibes of the people sharing the music with me - and I really don't like being fed negative vibes. Everyone's entitled to their fun, but I wouldn't go to a party with a negative crowd following just as you wouldn't go to a party with music you don't like - or attitude you don't like, case in point.

You wanna battle selection policies (heck, you're quoting Gandhi about it..)? you're gonna have to make everyone in the world good, first, cause that's where the policies come from. Good luck with it.

I would recommend, as a general tip for life, that you stop being in denial that there are harsh realities in this world - and stop being so stubborn, as it doesn't get you anywhere in a discussion.

I expect TiMMY will never really get everyone's point until he starts his own line of parties in a club and personally experience the situation (especially if he practices zero selection). So this debate is getting so pointless and irrelevant, it doesn't belong in reviews section anyway and it's not going anywhere.

Can we all finally just agree to disagree AND PUT THIS THREAD TO REST ALREADY??????           more burekas than famous

YES! That's what I wanted to do a long time ago
I think everyone presented their point very clearly. It seems you made a huge effort to convince me, but I'm sorry, but I still justify prejudice (even if it makes your life just a little easier). That's what it's all about. Childish? No. Arrogant? No. Naiive? Maybe...

well i dont think clubs suck at all actually

I love clubs, and ive been DJing my ass off in clubs for the last 4-5 years , at least twice a week.

and for the specific club this thread's talking about, where else will you find in Israel a place that brings you the finest music , week in week out, and only the top of the dj's , with easily one of the best crowds you will find?

but thats not the point:

i suggest all the people moaning, simply do not come , that simple

i cant believe this useless thread is still going on .....jeez

No air to breath. No space to dance, to talk, to wonder around, to take an outside look. No space for sound. And in Israel, usually bad sound. No sky. No moon. No stars. No green. No light. No air. No sun! Too much money. Too much alchohol. Too many people on not enough space. Too much bullshit.           ---------------------------------------------

No 3 Hours drive & getting lost in the middle of no where, No Sand in your shoes ears and god knows where else, No mosquito bites all over, NO flushable toilets, No cops butsing your party, No outrages entrance fee's when after a few mins cops are butsing your party...and the list can go on and on, there are downsides to everything... it's easier to enjoy something when u r looking on the upper side of things, try coming to a club whitout that bitching list and u might end up having fun...

it's all a matter of taste but in my opnion who ever can enjoy more things in life wins, be it clubs or outdoors, air or no air each place has it's own certain magic and mood...          http://www.aero-groove.com
