Trust me I thought about it last night as I was trying to educate my self on the newer, non Doepfer modules that I have never touched....but I know I will regret it as everything I have right now, I use a lot in every track I make.
I've made a "never sale stuff you use a lot" rule...so I'll just be patient instead and get one module at a time and learn that inside out before getting something else. I will have to anyway, Intellijel, Make Noise stuff is not cheap at all and it will take months buying the next module.

That's a great rule to have. None of this stuff is going to disappear so it's always best to work with what you have and to really, really think out your purchases prior. It's taken me around 5 years to build up my modular and for the most part I sold very few modules during the first 4 years. It's too easy to buy/replace/buy/replace into an endless cycle. I've known guys who have purchased the same module 3 and 4 times while re-selling it each time within a few weeks of getting them. I've always wondered how someone can really get to know their system when it changes so much. To me it seemed like they were more interested in analyzing gear vs. using the gear. There is so much more that can come out of the system as you learn it inside and out over a longer period of time. Keep with the reading and learning part while "slowly" adding to your system. I think you will get a lot more out of it that way.

Right so first thing is to get a MIDI to CV that also provides clock, the A-190 does this + 2 CV channels that read automation from Logic. Then Atlantis and a module that will let me insert my other synths into the Atlantis multimode filter.
Then a sequencer, I am between Tip Top Z8000, Intellijel Metropolis, Make Noise Rene.

I am over 1,5k already....

it seems not a easy task to get modules once these are no more produced , what you guys think on this? cause it seems companie run a porduction batch and then move one to a other module.
when i was close to spend the cash some years ago i noticed it s really not easy to get the module i was after.

Renes got a 303 style glide plus theres two sequence patterns in it, and its 16 step ans its quantized
Metropolis can hardwire straiht into atlantis

Dont forget to leave a bit of cash for stackables as well
Best for audio and banana patching
Ad infinitum for everything else
I spent nearly 4 grand on mine but never really feel the pinch,
Mind you I did sell all my synths, but now I can get almost a whole tune (idm) in one 6u
Kinda like buying a house. A little bit at a time

I was thinking something along these lines.

Bare in mind that I also have the Moog CP-251 which has a lag processor (slew limiter) S&H (and S&G) circuit with clock input, noise, LFO, 2 attenuators, 4 input mixer and 4 more multiples.

Comparing spending $4k on a eurorack to spending lets say $500+K on a house is the most retarded comparison you've done to date woodster. What a stupid comment.

Buying 6u of eurorack piece by piece is a hobby. It's not a frigging house.

$4K barely comes close to half of what my range hoods in the kitchen of my new house cost.           Cuntus Maximus.

Seriuosly ozmike, you dont pay cash up front in one go for a fucking house,

And even though it looks like your spending a lot , you buy the house bit by bit

There is a huge used market for these. Other than extremely limited run modules (under 25 made), you can usually find them within a few months and some patience. I just started looking for a harder to find Doepfer filter (A-123) which has been out of production for a few years. If I search long enough, I'll find it.           Analog/Digital Synth Modules www.toppobrillo.com
