this leads me to anothe4r thought, aimed more at the artists or at least people who understand music. and everyone else.
anyway, has somone heard/tried to make/imagined a cross between really hard metal (nasum, nile, mayhem, morbid angel) with psychadelic sounds, wacky effects, good production.
like reflection but much much much heavyier and more electronic.
and no i dont mean stuff like ramstein if somone dared think it.
like the music im imagining has gives me the image of serial killers doing bad bad stuff to their victims to a very definite beat and theri like dancing and you get the picture, i need a nap
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.

The Delta - Travelling at the speed of thought
nothing left to say...a lot of metal-heads or plain old rock freaks went WOW when presented to this stuff...
I'm former metal fan too (not that heavy, not that crazy, but still enjoyed my metal), and a lot of ppl I know went the same path...
but the analogy with speed doesn`t work really imo...I really like my brain worked by progressive tunes these days...
And one example, my good friend the Setherial Sourcerer (he's in the forum too) is a former death-metal crazy fan...and now he enjoys Human Blue as much as anyone hehe.
the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.... |

there's a lot of similarities between metal and trance but the vibe is opposite i think .
even if trance is hard and dark it's still feels more positive than metal .

I came from the Metal scene
Heard my bro listenming to metal since I was 5 years old - so I guess I was drawn into it... and... I hated all concerning electronic music that went: tgtss tgtss tgtss tgtss...
but time has passed and I discovered a whole new world which I didn't know existed before (Trance Mix 4 compilation) and now I don't even like listening to Metal anymore - I think Metal is nice and all, but I hate the limitation to Drums and Guitars - I like everything involved now
anyhow - I don't see any similarity between 94' trance to Metal at those times. And that's the time we are talkin about trance being compared to Metal - not after many years when every possible act has made a track that sounds like a heavy Metal track.
I think it's something else that drove ppl to leave the Metal scene for the Trance scene - and u should help me to figure this out

Ananda: Down At The Crossroad is by Cosmosis...
Well, both metal and psytrance (as we know it today) are about one thing above the rest - POWER. That's why there are so many ex-metal artists and current metal artists/fans that are/were active in the trance scene - Sandman, Chakra, Dark Soho, Skazi, Tim Schuldt, Tsuyoshi Suzuki... the list is just way too long.
