maybe a new name

i know the name as we know it is PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE, but of the last years loads of new style have hatched and influences brought have really change the traditional sound...
So even that it still contains psychedelia, i think the TRANCE part of it has been changed, because the music has alot of sudden interuptions, and things that break you out of a trance when you listen to the music....
What does anyone think of maybe a new title for SOME of the music around today ... Could be nice to give birth to a new area of dance music....

I can think of a name for many new israeli artists that copy each other and try to immitate Astrix and Infected Mushroom and make music exactly like they do.
The name is Pop Trance.

But what I mean is people always take out the psychedelic and keep the trance.. I think the trance has gone..
for example:
GOA TRANCE
PSY TRANCE
PROG TRANCE
what about :
PSYCHEDELIC ...........(somthing)

My father used to make compilations a while ago, and the name i think is wicked for the scene today...
PSYCHEDELIC ELECTRONICA..
sums it all up i think

I agree with you Junya. I call it pop music now 
Trance = to get into a state of trance due to repetive beats and a non interuptive flow.
No offense but especially the genre you are into Junya have way too many break downs and interruptions (as you pointed out yourself) to be called trance. It might at times be a little psy (even though I fail to see the psy in Full On) but the trance element is surely missing.
But as I always say.. Music is music and thats what's it's surposed to be no matter genres and taste.
But people do kid themselves when they call this scene "trance".. Especially when it come to Full On and Neo Full ON.
personally I like to see the trance element back again and the interuptions and pop melodies gone... But that's just my taste and we are some that try to do it again Wait and see. |

I think the psytrance now is anything but TRANCE.
You can see more trance elements in progressive house and chillout produtcions than psytrance.

Forget the psychedelia, the trance aspects etc etc..
