I got a better suggestion. Start make trance again and let's keep the names we have used for a long time. |

full on = astrix, gms and the clones (also referred to as copy & paste trance)
progressive = son kite, haldolium..
psytrance = prometheus, younger brother..
tech trance = midi militz, x-dream..
dark trance = i don't know/care
minimal trance = pretty much non existant these days
goa trance = old school acts and some new like filteria for example
..i think there are more than enough names for it already

Junya you can rename the trance, you already produce music that has not much common with psytrance, so you can rename your style. I do agree with last HadnA's comment.

I'm right there with you Wonka....
I do feel Junya's music can be very psychedelic (which is nice), but not trancey. I think if he took making a track slowly without trying to shock people, he may find that rythm and would make quality Psytrance......But that's if he cared to do so. His first album was super nice. Second album had it's moments....

i think Junyas got a very valid point , which most people on this thread seem to be missing, he's merely saying that over the years as the music has evolved, the TRANCE aspect of Psy trance has seemingly been replaced by a more stop/start aproach to writing trax , and maybe this validates a new pigeon hole , after all theres loads of different names for genres of Psy trance...

Antbreath, we don't miss the point, we miss something else (reread HandA's words) but it has not much to do with Junya or his question. It is still trance with more techno element. So rename won't make it any better this is what i try to say.
Now i will try to explain more, i don't how what kind of music you listen to but i'm basically trance/house guy! For years commercial trance being elvolving to somehting else as well as house or any other style so everything now is mix of couple genres. We should seperate basic music styles but subgenres we should define by artists names (ie. Eskimo - Electronic, Psytrance, Fullon)
