Following your logic, a singer can record a playback, and then it will leave him much more time & energy for creativity during the show, since there will be no need to sing. He or she will be able to dance and flirt with the crowd much better. And since there is such a good technology, painters can just use drawing software, sculptors can use CNC machines, and cinema can be made virtually by computers.

If the computer did the actual track selection and mixing that would be a fair comparison to the singer. I would say that it's more like a singer using a compressor to have to not focus as much on microphone technique.

Regarding that you cannot paint using a drawing program or make movies with computers...following that logic music made with computers is not actually music and you have to compose with pen and paper to then perform on "real" instruments to create music.
Of course you are not alone in that opinion and it's one that I heard countless times throughout the years, but not so often from people in to electronic music.

There is no doubt that synthesizers, for example, are real musical instruments. I don't know about pen&paper (there are PC programs for writing musical notes , but I do know that most electronic artists have a strong musical background with more traditional instruments.
BTW, please don't get me wrong - I was talking ONLY about mixing skills, and definitely not about the mixing quality. There is no doubt that, in musical aspects, 'synced' sets are as good as 'non-synced'. Some will say that they are even better.

One thing I must say, though, is that PC mixing programs are a wonderful experimental tool, as it's much easier to listen to music and making different experiments that way (suppose you got some new tracks).

No point, its just regarding the chat with Spindrift.
By the way, do you use looping? Got any tips 4 me? My main difficulty in looping is that even if 2 tracks are perfectly beatmatched, when I make loops - everything goes wrong. The BPM seems to become slower or faster. And when I adjust the loop' BPM (to the other track) and then exiting this loop, the BPM jumps again. Do you know why maybe?

Ok..

well shortly I am playing on 3 decks mostly and i use looping when i put on the 3rd deck some break bit ..to use it for the breaks between tracks Its better to beatmatch clearly enough.. looping is killing the vibe its just tooo much enthusiasm when 2 tracks are floating 3 minutes at the same time..no loop included

about your problem?? I am not aware.. maybe you didnt looped perfectly.. try to do on 4 tacts..not 8.. to colide just 4 tact loop..what players do you have?

I use pioneer200, which have "Beat Loop" function. I also tried to manually find the exact beat begin point with the jogwheel, but its the same always - once I 'get out of the loop', the bpm match goes wrong (It was OK during the loop..)
And which benefits, beside the break beating, does playing on 3 decks has?

Your loop is the wrong size, so you are beatmatching to the loop rather than to the track.

Beatmatch the track without the loop, make sure it's as close to right as you can get it. Then enter the loop. If it starts to go off, DONT touch the pitch slider, instead adjust the loop end point (by pressing the loop out button and moving the jogwheel forward or backward).
