Hola!!
I would really like to read about your looping methods.
For example, when I play 2 tracks (techno\trance\house) and I want to make a long beatmixing by creating 1 or 2 loops (one in each track - the outcoming or the incoming or both) - well it seems that it influences the BPM - even if 2 tracks 'sit perfectly' one on another, when I try any looping, it all goes wrong.
I use 2 pioneer-200's if it matters.
Would really like to hear some tips from the ppl here.
Cheers =)

What I'm actually trying to understand is why the BPM changes when creating a loop or when exiting the loop.
Suppose that I do adjust the frames, the mix still goes wrong when I quit the loop.

i never us loops....

the only thing i see this usefull for is for very short tracks...and even then you don't really need it imo and i play quite a lot of tracks that are shorter than 4 minutes           Ain-Soph (Trancebum Productions / Freakdance Records)

Can't agree with you. I gives a lot of creative potential if done the right way           Monitoring devices, know where you go

ur mixing music created mostly out of loops so whats the point of looping? If u realy want to loop than try to beat juggle, than ul see how hard looping is and whats is it really all about.. I can loop in serato but I havent touched that button once.. If u can loop on turntables, than ur showing the skills, not just by touching the buttons and letting the computer to do all the work....           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

+1

Though imo looping is not generally required while mixing most genres of electronic music...

Anybody else?
There are world-class dj's over here, and I'm just looking for some looping tip.

BTW,
another reason to use the loops: suppose that one track coming to its end, and for some reason you don't manage to find a beatmatch (with the other track). So, making a loop can give you extra few seconds to get it together...
TRY IT TODAY!!! call 1-800... ))

basicly when u make loop with cdj, the loop aint that accurate as it should be.
example 4 beat loop should be 1 sec cd player makes it 0,95 sec. long so yo have 0,05 difference or it can make it 1,10 sec (numbers are irrelevant and probably not even near to reality)
if i would use loops i would just correct with jog wheel everytime loop goes to end, u can easily get that feeling when u have to adjust and how much just like if you were playing with 0,1% pitch cd players.... but i dont see any use for looping learn to beatmatch better if time seems to run out

Thats only reasonable point for using loop but u can also just mix intro and outro if u dont manage it for some reason.. And this other way is also better cause mixing loops usually only gives just trouble.. However if u like them so much its better to use them on parts of track u like the most to emphasize them and remix on the fly..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

or you can loop a specific part of a track that you like, for example a voice sample or a lead, and then add effects to it and let it run along with the other track while manipulating it with for example a vocoder, a bitcrusher, phaser or what ever effect you like. And with the reloop you can just jump back to that point later in the track if you want to..

as for getting it to match you need to set the in/out points perfectly and make sure its the same tempo, even a 0.00001% missmatch will get it off beat after a while.. It not the end of the world since its quite easy to jog it into place again
