yeah, when I go out on a weekend I definitely don't want to talk, think or look at anything. I like my trance dead serious, no fun and without a hint of humanity.

geesh, remind me not to party with you guys.

In regards to the way the music is produced having too many breakdowns...

This only affects people who only use 2 decks. With three decks or more you can just edit out the breakdowns and create solid chunks of facemelt. Personally, I think 2 decks works for the kind of stuff Cinder does because that style of trance is best served by treating it like its break core and chopping and splicing as opposed to long blends.           Spacecamppsyfari.com

hardkornate, a lot of people think it's disrespectful to the producer to do anything but mix at the very beginning and end of the track. I think that's kind of silly but some people are serious about it.

I would rather just cut the track in ableton or soundforge to remove parts I don't like and make parts I like longer

I think that's way past silly and those people should sit down and stop pretending to be DJ's. Maybe an iPod is more their speed...           Spacecamppsyfari.com

I don't know if he meant DJ's or just plain ole psy enthusiasts.
I played at a bunch of venues in Koh Phangan back in 03 and was invited to play at the hidden bar place in town as trial for black moon party but got a thumbs down due to mixing too long which the local Israeli brigade did not like as they wanted short mix so they could enjoy the track as it was supposed to be. Was not my style so I did not comply.
Had a blast at full moon anyway dancing to mid morning.
Come to think of it every second person there was a DJ lol

Hehe... I got told to shut up on the dancefloor in Goa I was actually talking about the track and the history behind it at the time, but I'm going to make an effort not to give history lessons at the time...

And Rich, I'm uploading some new stuff for people to hear right now, and I'll be back in Cali in 3 days

Right... here's one new one and I'll upload the other one soon...

Ive been going to trance parties for 8 years and have watched my dancefloor experiences slowly degrade as I've gotten to know more people and been more unable to prevent talking/convo on the dancefloor than ever before.

if we could start a movement towards less talking on the dancefloor... that'd be great... by the way folks... if u see my shimmying back and forth like an Ancient with my eyes closes and my lips pursed on the Doof, don't say any thing to me!!! at least not until the tracks done!

You just have to alter your dance if you don't like people talking to you. Use more high leg kicks and punches. Put your arms out full stretch and just spin around that way no one can ever get near you.

I don't think I've seen anyone try to talk to someone doing the running man either...

Or learn sign language.

hey rich,
i took the time to listen to the mix you originally posted at the beginning of this thread. the music there is GREAT and you're right, you will not find any one in the states who plays this style. im surprised u even relate Parus to this style. i DO wish more american DJ's would play this finnish/suomi pure happy time music....

Toki is a dj here from wisconsin that plays suomi and has for atleast the past 6 years.

Deep Fryer who used to live in the states plays this style too- he was out at gemini last year.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Long breakdown/build-up's are a buzz kill to the max. I find (IMO of course) they just don't work so much in an indoor/bar setting. Outdoors and the right artist then maybe but it's still hit and miss. I like my psy to be like I'm drowning in you try and catch your breath but just can't. It just keeps coming and coming harder and harder where you just can't ignore. I don't like feeling like I'm at a euro pill popping bathhouse of cheese. This is psytrance people we are soldiers at war bombs must be dropped!

Rich I'm on a phone so I don't know what tracks you posted but by reading this I think I know what you mean. Not from sf but psychobeat (usta,Psytribe) does this for me. Dem parus boys kick ass I have not had the chance to see them live sadly

And dj's please edit cut streach or what ever you want to songs that you see fit that makes you and the whole shabang better because we are going on your journey not the artist. We can stay home and listen to CDs if we want it just as is. You are the artist not just commercials
