Hi there...

I would like to fill my Chill-Out CD-Stock not only with nowadays Xellent releases, but also with Oldies....

But this is quite complicated, with closed labels, no more stocks in on-line shops etc etc...

So I am also loOking for "secondhand" Cds !!

Exemples on my wishlink would be :

V.A - In A Dub Mission (TUA Records - 1997)
V.A - Signs Of Life (Blue RoOm - 1997)
V.A - More Signs Of Life (Blue RoOm - 1998)
V.A - Freekstyle (Blue RoOm - 2000)

And so many others....

Any Specialised website ?
Or Anybody here fed up with those cds ??

Thanx           .

I'm feeling ancient if late 90s stuff is considered old stuff!!

If you want one of the most chilled albums ever - look out for Rainbow Dome Music by Steve Hillage (later System 7) - the Orb used to use it when they first started out doing chill out rooms in the late 80s - its 2 x 20 minutes tracks of twinkly plinky chill.

You can get it pretty much anywhere (even on Amazon) quite cheaply as it was realsed on Virgin mid price.

80's stuff is another thing..
ofcourse we can go to "the doors" time too.. "the doors" have many chill out songs like "the end" for example.. then again we can jump hundreds of years back in time since classical music is chill out too..

but this was about "psy chill out stuff" ..or that's atleast what I though.. and this was born definetly i the 90's not 80's,, no orb, but blueroom, tip rec& so on..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

oh man, how can some people be sooo obsessed with labeling? "we're talking about psy-chillout..." as traveller said : ( the psy is in your head, man! or are you saying that the doors isn't psychedelic? early 90's ambient is very psychedelic too...

if you're interested:
-future sound of london (and or amorphous andrygonous)
-the orb
-mixmaster morris
-banco de gaia
-children of the bong
-the chill out or die series
-space time continuum
-sabres of paradise
-hawke
etc.

and even older stuff if you dare : ) :
-tangerine dream
-oskar sala (one of the 1st synth pioneers
from the 1930's!)
-stockhausen: kontakte
-tomita
-perrey and kingsley
-ohm 3cd box (early electronic music/synth pioneers lesson 1 : ) )
etc.

everything psychedelic in it's own way.
get to know the roots of today's electronic
music!

I find doors very psychedelic..
Its just that atleast I had the impression that this thread was about the 90's chill out.. blah.. nevermind..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

While we've been diverted (rightly or wrongly) onto the subject of old chill out stuff - my most played chill out cd ever is the chillout CD with Whirl-y-waves vol 1 which is from the UK club/festival crew whirl-y-gig . First Cd is global grooves type stuff and second CD is really nice uplifting chill out stuff.

www.whirl-y-gig.org.uk

I dunno - every trance party/festival I've ever been to - the chill out/second room has always been a bit more open minded than just "psy-chill"... maybe I'm not going to the right parties
