Mubali: couldnt agree with u more.

i think than push play lives suck. but not every live played with a lap and midi controller is about that,. no one with some racionality can think that every sequence is gonna be played live.... there are always some elements that are already arranged , but at least i and others acts i live add up many things, not just a sound once a while... making it also very dynamic in a more artistic way. samples, synths and filters can be tweaked using cool sequencers like ableton live and virtual instruments and fx. dont underestimate these way of playing, because it demands many skills that are beyond djing. im not trying to say that one is better than the other. they are simply different and i think that one of the best ways of supporting ur scene, is by supporting the artists who make the music, and getting them on stage. of all the people i know who make music, all of the prefer to perform live , than mix their tracks. if not well en up in a scene like the late nineties when djs like sasha and digweed whose name became huge, while the artists who made the music stayed in the shadows.
