"Even For You.." ?? If You Know Reading Well And Understand Mean To All And "NOT ONLY TO MR. HANDA" ! There Is Some More Peoples On This Planet Then You (Some..) . I think That To Hear More Hits Tracks (Different Artists And Yours) In The Same Cd Is Great !

Personally i injoy compilations as much /if not sometimes more so than alot of recent artists albums....
And please lets not forget the djs guys, a good V/A can feature/showcase a diverse collection of same veined tracks,and or theme, and a selection of tunes for different djs to use as tools.....
and yeah ill buy a compilation if it has only 1/2/3 good tracks, infact most do...lol
Alot of Comps as of late feature 1 or 2 killers, a few fillers, and then a couple more middle of the road quility to tie the ends together
Compilations are very usefull for many reasons, most of wich have been stated. ie introducing new artsist aliong side more well known artists infact if it werent for compilations, there would be some SERIOUS lag time inbetween doses of good music.......
as if yah didnt have an albums worth, ....well youd have to sit on it till yah did.
some artists( especially up an comings & new talent) would be forced to either mass produce more and in a rushed manner, in order to fill an album.... ( hmmmmm hold on...) in wich cas many would remain unheard of for years..
Ofcourse Yah Cant beat a good artist album!!
, inbetween quility Full length albums.........Comps are a good relable way of getting a taste of things out an about,new directins etc, and if your a dj , aquering a divers arsenal of tunes for diff times etc..,
I think its kinda silly to generalize all 'Compilations'' as been less personal etc....

Personally, I do enjoy compilations a lot. For a DJ, they are invaluable. There have been many occasions where I have bought a compilation for a particular artist and ended up liking more than just that artist's track on there... Which in turn caused me to buy the artist album once it came out.
I am working on an album right now and I do agree that doing this album is soooo much more difficult than writing one or two tracks for various compilations, but at the same time I am really enjoying being able to take my story and write if from beginning to end. There's been many occasions during this process where I wanted to scrap the whole album idea and just release my nastiest ones on compilations, but at the same time there is something to be said about the time and effort put into telling the full story of your persona.
Now this being said, if it weren't for the compilations, it's highly unlikely that anyone would be familiar with the music that I do and as such wouldn't generate as much anticipation for the full length album... True there are less artist albums coming out, but I'd rather see a flood of compilations where I have the opportunity to learn about the new artists or hear great tracks from an artist that probably wouldn't find it's way onto an album due to the style that the label is releasing it has, rather than having to sift through someone's full journey that I wouldn't necessarrily enjoy. There are few artist albums that I have been able to enjoy from start to finish and the same can be said about compilations, but the rare gems that you can find make it that much more exciting...

I never said that all Compilations was bad or non personal.. I said some! I still stand with my opinion that I'll go for a artist album any day if it's good.
It's fun because before the arrival of all these compilation we still managed to get out to people as new artists in various ways. You dont need a compilation as a new artist. You just need a label that know how to promote you the right way. But I guess it's more hard these days with a 100 new artist per week and many bedroom amature labels that know nothing about promotion. I call that overflooding. Maybe with less new artists (we can easily do without the many copyartists) and less but competent labels we would not have the need for all these "hit & run" compilations. Notice I DID not say all compailations are bad!  |

to a rather noraml view/issue of Comps vs Albums (as you are yours)...... i just love comps bro,what can i say..... 
I agree that there are loads of pretty lame comps out man, and yes heaps of cut copy paste artists and labels, but hey...they proubly wont last and things will go on.....shalalalalalala
personally im 100% down for more Quility &,well thought out comps bud
Good music is good music, no matter were or how its featured.....
