That discussion was unnecessary from its start, I've asked on topic to leave politics alone and when i found it's fully utilized decided to end it:
I beleive that politics should be left out of trance. In my experience- everyhing it touches becomes 'spoiled'. It has history of being lead for troubles also here. We have enough of it in our everyday media, everwhere almost.. let it be clean and make trance be the language
I used the search and found more practical topic about the matter, if anyone has something to add.

Please, no more politics/offtopics and anything wich can insult a person.

yep.... this was nice topic without crap talking
but also i agree with tdr.....leave the politics alone!
we all have political opinions and personaly i have some things to say.....but not here!
fist of all
isratrance is international forum and everybody has different opinions......
some ppl here dont know how to explain themselfs properly in english language ....like me for example.....so its not fair!
second
with all respect to isra users......this political talks here is usualy complete bullshit and usualy this talks is about george bush and usa
while in africa thousands of ppl dieing every day.....
100, 000 ppl have been killed in sudan and still the genocide is continue......but the only one thing that important is bush!
i would like to see here talks about poverty for example....or other bad things in this world!
but not politics and international policy!

Some people should understand that this place is owned by a group of people and that they set up a set of guidelines, if you fail to follow them than maybe you should search for other places. It has been proven many many times that topics about politics never lead to a healthy discussion here so please, stay on the topic, which is music.

I would agree with you, but now they are starting to overstep their own guidelines (which of course they have the right to do because its a private place).
For example the "politics in trance" thread. People were talking about the concept of politics in trance, not talking politics, yet this was still too much for TDR and the thread was locked anyway.
If this continues, I will leave isratrance.

I disagree with you, There is no point of 'politics in trance' psycosmo, that's the point.
As i told to you on pm - its true it hadnt gotten ugly, but i prefered to prevent a situation that it will become.

Psycosmo, I agree that the topic was not "ugly" (yet). I think that discussions about tracks with political samples, tracks or projects with political names, etc, can be interesting, but knowing some of the trolls lurking in the shadows I must say they have a real potential to become bad real fast.
Also I could unlock the thread with just one click, but I won't do that. Because the moderator of that section locked it, and I respect his decision. Clearly he did not lock the topic for his own benefit, but because he believed locking was the right thing to do. It was not like he was exerting dictatorship, in the worst case from some points of view he may have made a mistake. But at least in this case, I would not call having a different opinion and acting accordingly with one’s believes a mistake. So he has my support. I didn’t invite people to become moderators expecting they’ll do only moves that I agree with, that would be unrealistic. I expect them to use their discernment and act in a consistent way, always respecting and giving the good example to other users.
It is very difficult for everyone to agree with something. For example, I don’t remember ever seeing an issue on the Mod’s Section in which everyone agrees 100% with each other. But we must not let our different opinions divide us; we must use them as one of our most valuable treasures, because they’re the source of singular ideas and insights.

I don't believe "this" will continue, because I don't even know what "this" means.
We don't even have rules, only guidelines which are suggestions on how to avoid topics becoming violent and disrespectful. As mentioned some times before, politics discussions usually end in a bad way. Even when our guidelines suggests "No Politics" there are some topics about it, we're not brainwashing people, we're trying to maintain an ambient where new and old people, artists and home listeners, everyone can share their opinions and experiences and read other's too, educating and being educated at the same time, and specially noticing that as long as we respect each other music can unite us instead of divide us, even when we have different opinions.
If you leave, I'll cry.
Respect!

but isn't that the point of this topic...that trance be allowed to grow and express itself beyond a moderator's views.
I agree politics is a touchy issue, but as long as it is healthy and inoffensive, a subject should be allowed to expand. How many times in that thread, pointlessly, has TDR let us know that politics is bad (no offense to you mate, it could just be new-mod jitters).
This was simply a previous-experience strict guideline-based paranoia, and guess thats why "new-age mods". no? |

Actually fullon, he did lock the topic because of his personal opinion about the topic. He just doesn't think politics and trance should be mixed at all and therefore closed the topic to prevent it from being discussed.
From the way he has rationalized this to me, I don't think T.D.R should be a moderator at all.

All I can do is to hope his next moves will make you re-think your stance. If he was trying to "prevent it from being discussed" he shouldn't give a link to a synonymous topic.
