You can't prevent a conflict of ideology. Be it discussion on genres of music or politics. You guys are 'moderators'. that word itself in any field is one of an active part of the mix. It's what you add to a brew to keep the pot from boiling over.
whats happening right now is 'blowing out the fire and covering the pot' where do u go from there? sounds a neverending loop.
im a full on supporter of isratrance but the forums been feeling very edgy these days. i don't doubt its got much harder to keep people here under control. hence this topic ... alternatives to dealing with this mass and the neverending need for debate.
psytrancers are not sheep. you cant be governed by steadfast rules after you had the psychedelic experience. the experience teaches us to be true to ourselves. if you want a forum that represents the psytrance community you must give people the freedom to represent themselves.

yup .. i deeply suspect that topic got locked because of tdr`s personal views rather than forum guidlines ..
and then u allow retarded topics like `craziest fx in tracks` `track playing in your mind` etc go on .. reeks of hypocrisy .. dont talibanize this place .. u stand to lose more than you gain .

So you decided that "craziest fx in tracks" and "track playing in your mind" topics are retarded. I go there and lock it. A bunch of users come here saying I should be crucified because I'm killing a very representative and harmless topic, that "you must give people the freedom to represent themselves" and that instead I should lock other "real retarded topics". Run this in an eternal loop...
You're making a big deal out of a single topic locking... It is not like the guy is systematically shutting down users... I'm sure everyone is learning with this stuff, give the guy a chance...
Sorry for the harsh words, but it seems that after one mistake (if we can call it a mistake) you want me to cut his head off and hang it out so that everyone can see how democratic Isratrance is.

topics shouldn't have the be locked at all!
I'm guessing there are several topics a day that you guys need to delete. the problem lies in locking of a topic after a discussion is underway. stop doing it so often!
both threads discussed here seemed to have been locked without a need for it. nones asking you to chop any heads off. if a mistake is made, (Ctrl+Z)! simple.

As a contributor to the 'politics and psy' thread here's my $0.02...
I seriously can't understand how anyone can think that politics and artistic creation are not connected.
Are we not allowed to have protest songs any more?
To say that politics has no place in psytrance is to deny its roots and history.
Name the track this particularly political sample comes from, then think of the year it was released:

Goa/Psytrance has always been political.

Despite there being no trouble (or even the hint of trouble) on that thread, it was closed because one person with power insisted that there was no connection between the two topics, despite there being a healthy discussion to the contrary.
As far as I know, the Isra rule on politics was never intended to stifle discussions like that, but to keep the forum a pleasant place to be in the face of inevitable discussions and arguments about various political situations involving Israel. Lately though it seems that this has been extended to include subjects I think Shahar would have been surprised at - the Tibetan flag thing is one of them, as support for the Tibetan people has been a feature of the Psytrance scene as a whole since before Simon Posford sampled Ken Kesey; there have been benefit parties, compilations, campaigns... but it seems now if you want to talk about trance you're not allowed to talk about politics too.
