This is a very broad question I know, but do you think the music of psytrance is changing around the globe? Do you think it's changing in your country perhaps?
I'm getting a vibe that it seems to be coming to a nexus.

if we talk about psytrance music yes it's changing becuase of much more advanced technology available to make new psychedelic sounds. it's electronic music and if something new is available to make this electronic genre better we should accept it and take it to a better direction.

but psytrance is just not limited to music.
it means a lot to many people
it means a culture a true culture where they can find truth through the music.
where they can know themselves.
if we talk about this aspect i would have to say yes it's getting diminished slowly. which is very sad.
there are very less people left who actually believe in psyculture and don't take it as just another music scene

big respect to them big big respect to them god bless all

I agree 100% it doesn't matter if the Psychedelic vibe incarnates in another musical bodies, what we need to preserve is our culture and vibe.

Good post Allegoric, you deserve a psychedelic energy blast of the purest cosmic energy

Boooooooooooooooooooom!!!

Here in the SF Bay Area it seems to have diminished in popularity and I've actually heard someone say:

"I am over Psytrance now.... I like Breaks now"

- which seems to be a trend around here. At Symbiosis Gathering there was very little Psytrance compared to what I'm used to from European festivals, we we're a bit dissappointed. I guess there will always be ups and downs in popularity, yet in the middle there will always be the hard core.
I know for myself that in the last 10 years I haven't heard any sound sweeter than full-on psytrance, and for some reason I doubt there ever will be.
And to me the music and the visual art are equally pleasing and sophisticated, and the people all seem to be on the same frequency with regards to spirituality, politics, etc. etc.

Because of this Psytrance cannot be turned into a consumer product, like what happened to punk.
Is punk more popular then ever? Sure, but is it still punk? No.

Is Psytrance changing?
yes, yes indeed.. as some said the music is becoming much more technical - hence often much more amazing too..
though at the same time its popularity also affords for alot of crap to be made very easily now too.
As far as the culture goes...I find that true psytrance people have kept them same ideals - or perhaps have become more aware even - yes there are many people joining the psytrance scene that are there for the amazing ride that it offers to them, but those that are true to the core ideas seem to stick around and not hang on as a passing fad. doesn't matter young or old.
Nothing ever stays exactly the same- and I for 1 am gratefull for that           Trance is the answer

talking only about the music here , i don't think its changing .. the great tectonic shift came i think in 2001 - 2002 with skazi - animal , deedrah - reload and some earlier astrix tunes .. fullon had arrived in grand style .. then by 2003 `dark` was gaining popularity coz ppl became bored of the happy crap .. prog also about this time started to become more house , techno influenced ... and now its hit a plain again .. lets see where the next big revolution comes from ! .. i could be off here on some details .. just my observations these

nothing is going to change people we all will enjoy, dance,be happy and find the truth inside us till we die !!!!

i don't think there's any problem if there are new people coming to our music culture.....
there was once when even we were exposed to the big universe for the first time and yes we couldn't also understand at the first place.... hehehe

every mind functions differently and has different lookout for everything.

i think everybody finds it sooner or later.....

and one day when everybody finds it out hopefully everything will be alright.

big booommmmm to everyone ! ! !

What should be important is the mind....

Mind is changing but in worst..... what I see is people going to party or not, getting all the same, all loving the same sound, the same party, the same attitude.....( of course, all love dark or proggy or full-on or minimal.... ok difference, but in those differences... all the same)

Technology instead of letting people doing more expressive things is letting more people doing all the same stuff....

What should be good is the change of the mind, the evolving mentality and attitude.... not the all the same.... all the money all the killer music, all the bpm or the proggy or the minimal or all the same party organisation, or all the same label or so on....

What should be good in a change is a changement in a whole open mindness.... of everybody.... everybody giving something from he's side, not taking an idea from an another side and changing a little and giving back....

Hope that's will become true... but all this mediatisation, this globalization, all those words that loose their power and rest just words without meanings.... aren't making psytrance going further but getting just bigger, with more money involved with more drugs junkys involved, more people doing music, more labels doing killargh VA, BUT without culture, spirituality and sense.

I don't want to be too negative, but just give a point of view to make all you think
