Apparently cells have to grow first before they split and multiply.

For me this is a perfect analogy of dance music and how it has grown and split over, for me, the last 18 years.

Psy has done a lot of growing over the last 5 years and obviously split, perhaps more than once.

I can remember the rave scene here in the UK at the beginning of the nineties. That grew and split.......split completely giving birth to new forms. Happy hardcore and Jungle...don't laugh at the back there......Each style had its own scene, look, vibe etc.

Is it now time for the psy scene to complete its cycle?

After hanging around the forum for the last week I have got the feeling that it is time. Thats just my view point. Whats yours?           http://www.whatacunt.co.uk/

maybe to let the mainstream psy scene go away and restart another one?

No, i think it already split, the mainstream psy scene its in its own way, linked just by c ommon past with the othe more "unerground one"

maybe it will live in a hell of its own creation like full on said on other topic.

Time to choose what side of the fence you are on.

for me there seems to be a spell where a genre hits the mainstream for a while...gets flogged to death by promoters labels etc....and then hits saturation point and splits. some go one way, some go another.......this ultimately drive the music back underground and something else rises up to the mainstream.....this is what I have seen many times here in the UK.           http://www.whatacunt.co.uk/

I just see a fragmented scene.

I just want some good parties to go to again.

me too, and maybe most of people on the forum just dont feel at home with the current status of the "scene".

I the last year I'm lucky we have 1 or two good parties here at mexico.

I think people is just too atached to big events and big names on line ups, they see sonly dj's on the flyer and they dont go

people undervalue the true core of this movement. And in many places there is no critical mass of supporters for a real under scene.

Mainstream success = short shelf life

I guess we can bitch about it or do something pro-active our selfs as a community to move in the right direction.           http://www.whatacunt.co.uk/

I understand your point and agree it's split. Also I am thankful I don't hear Dark Psy at parties I go to. And neither Full-On or at least the Full On of the banal kind. Alien Project and friends           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

I think its more than about time...

But people have to have a love for this culture for what it is and what it can be...

And money(comercial side) can never be the goal...
