It´s hard to listen to the hole thing, specially with so much good music around. Well, at least im not surprised, IM is declining faster than our oil reserves. I hope some day they will a release another psytrance album couse this is not psy. c ya
I think this is music.
Considering that music is an art form, then we must remember that the stimuli perceptions emotions, etc, etc, are not felt equally by all of us.
If anything I may say, this work of IM is very well produced and I would love to hear them live, although not consider Trance music.
But.... I'll never forget what they have done by Trance.
Probably Trance will always be with them and if we listen carefully we can say that´s true.

riders of the storm rmx has lyrics and music. Both lyrics and music is not an Infected Mushroom work. Rest of tracks lack lyrics and music, are midgets. This remix shows me somehow how i would like this CD to be. Unfortunately shows me that rest of tracks is empty of content. If i were Infected Mushroom i wouldnt put this remix on the album for reasons i mentioned above.

honestly i think bands like them pushing scene forward. I don't like direction they push but overall they propose things that are different. Reasons behind it could be money or any other material reason which is sick refering to music as art. This theory explains to me why the shape of their last proposal is so round and pop. Understanding of music by them is now massively influenced by desire to enter the circle reserved for names like chemical, moby, fatboy etc. I think you all guys should look and observe. My presonal opinion is that they are not able to switch to dance music so fast. They try to introduce trance sound to pop public which will probably fail since pop music has flexibility which lacks in trance. Trance is a maniac music, subcultural. On other hand pop may absorb such sound in rational doses.

But you are not Infected Mushroom. So making a hypothesis on what actions you would take, "if" being Infected is utterly useless.

I don't know if you got the "refering to music as art" from my review. But I can explain my standpoint if so.
To me the intention behind the making of a particular track or album has no effect on my listening experience, or the consideration if it is art or not. To me the present experience is art, it's life, it's vital. Music is art in the essence, regardless for what underlying resons it has been produced. This is my humble opinion.

I agree that Trance is a subculture, but doesn`t mean that has to be counterculture.
I think we should be tolerant and try to understand this new phase of IM.
Is natural that some of us don`t like the new sound, but others like.
C`est la vie....
Anyway I have the feeling that they withdraw some teachings of this topic. There are very good posts about the current music of them.
