I'm just wondering, hope I posted in the right forum. I am progressing my craft of trance music and I just don't see any way to do it part time.

I know the big names (example: infected mushroom) do it full time but how about the lesser known artists are they able to support themselves by playing psy trance?

Gimme a shout. The reason I ask this question is I want to dedicate my life music production. However, I want to do it without starving

Make a side project with ultra commercial dance Club house music and hide your name. Then make music with passion with your real name?
I know some who does this to get financials to live and make the music they love.

You know I have thoght of that. I have also thought of maybe selling hip hop instrumentals and such. I just cant imagine being able to play out of country shows while working a day job, or having a good output of high quality music while working a day job.

I'd be very surpised if there were more than a couple of people (the obvious big names) making a reasonable full time living out of psy trance in the UK. I'd imagine its the same most places.

True, well to me a reasonable living is 100k usd per year. Never make that in psy trance unless you are extremely lucky I doubt its even possible. Only careers that make over 100k are sales, medical, law yada yada yawn...If I were doing music I'd just want enough to survive. I have a number of supplemental incomes also.

Mate thats something like 8.000 dollars a month. You know many people that earn this ammount of money? That is 6000 euros a month for European citizens and very very few people have jobs that offer them salaries like this one.

A reasonable living in both USA and Europe is way below this ammount of money that you mentioned, not even half if you ask me.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

That is why I said reasonable to me. If I'm going to work a day job that is the kind of income that I'm going to have.
