Ask artists like Prometheus,Atmos,Cosmosis,Deedrah,Orion,Jaia,Hallucinogen,Son Kite,Wrecked Machines,Xerox And Illumination,Wizzy Noise,Juno Reactor,X Dream and their friends what quality is.
I mean since we are not the ones that can judge what is quality or not lets ask them no?

@TrippyJohnny: People are asking you a simple question yet you keep evading it with your circular arguments and defensive posture. No one is insulting you, we in the psy community are simply interested in what YOU believe is quality music.
The thing is DETOX, that the artists you mentioned will probably each have different definitions of what they believe is QUALITY music and that is GOOD. That way there is some for all tastes and moods and times of day. Why does taste and quality have to be ordained from some higher authority such as yourself or the artists you mentioned? Do you think that people are too dumb to be able to discern what they believe quality music is?
TrippyJohnny, with all due respect, I understand your POV because I am very difficult with my tastes in music. But what you are proposing is CENSORSHIP, plain and simple. You might call it "quality control", but the thing is that term has no revelance when dealing with ART, since quality cannot be measured for all. |

Yes probably better than you can. BUT I don't botrher to debate with people who can not restrain themself from attacking people in personal insulting ways when they don't have more to come with. As was the case in this debate aginst DETOX and myself . I do not say you do it though so don't feel it was aimed at you.
For you alone I will repost what i wrote earlier and make it very clear that I am not debating people's taste in music here. I am debating that maybe just maybe the music has been put in the background as a tool to enhance the massive drug abuse these days. And that because the music is no longer the most important factor then maybe just maybe the quality goes out and in comes quantity.
Here's what i wrote and what i was flamed for. If only people would read what I write instead of assuming things

so blaim the organizers for putting clowns on stage, not the labels.
Acutally i know a guy who you would consider as great artist with super quality, the thing is that he made a jerk outta himself on stage and the organizers told me they would never ever book him again. 
And no, he's not playing 150+ with killargh basslines =) |

I blame many of the organsiers AND the people on the floor too. It's not only the organisers fault and sorry but there are also labels who could do with a bit better quality control before they release the next "mega kilarghh" compilation that sound exactly like x number of other compilations released by x number of labels. It's not so black and white that it's only the organisers fault. And we can also blame some of the artists for version no. 1200 of the same cut & paste track. So you see there's many to blame
It's kind of eating chocolate with the wrapping still on when you throw out stories about some artist acting like a clown on stage without telling us who he is and who the organiser was that did nto wnat to book him anymore. And then how on Earth are you able to tell if like his music?

all the above mentionned quality artists got professional studios costing a lot of $$$,
yeah money make the difference between quality
music , and poor production music
if u want to make quality music , u need a quality studio (a nerd with just a computer and shity speakers will hardly make quality music)
if u dont invest money in studio,then its hard to make quality music.simple as that.
thats why the scene is dying, because money!
some ppl dont want or dont have money to spend in studio,so even if they got nice ideas they keep producing bad music.(look at dark scene)
on the other hand , some artists spend ,or want to spend money in studio in order to produce quality music,but...they start to produce cheezy music,to sell more,then we got this crap (look at fullon scene)
and those remaining who dont want to release badly produced music or either commercial boring music ,they get fucked at the end by ppl downloading mp3 for free,
artists can adapt,but for shop and labels it will be harder and harder i think.
1 tip for them : adapt selling methods and release/sell more different stuff ,not only psytrance or ambient as this scene will surely die and melt with others electronic styles.
just an opinion!

i have spent over 7000$ on my studio, ten years practice guitar and music theory , 5 more years to know how to work correctly on computer music software and synths groovebox and such.. then this asshole come and shit all over it (and many like me), i find it rude . whats else to say i bet he never even realy listened to half of the music he is shitin about .
anyhow , the moment it become "scene" was what ruin , not "dark" "prog" "full-on" , the fact you devide them.. here is the problem.

Quality production or quality psychedelic music? What are you guys discussing? Because you know what, Shiva Shidapu had BAD quality, but the FINEST QUALITY in psychedelic music. Erez used an old tracker. So shit man, people can make quality music with crappy computers and shitty speakers. Who cares about the production quality when the cosmic production is top notch. But I'm proberly off topic, as usual, so please have me excused
