A piece of sh*t, but at least it is written ok, especially if you skip the infected part I think they just tailored it for a wide mainstream electronica audience, thus we don't like it...           Monitoring devices, know where you go
Mass media, total control
Digital delight, desire in megabite
Data overflow, virtual suicide
This information, is disinformation
Truth is hidden, knowledge forbidden

There was a big article about psytrance in DJ Mag last year. It's very commercial orientated but it's really psytrance and not Armin Van Burren and PVD.

Could someone post this file up again? I'm intrigued.

Well. Nice topic. But for a fact we all know that, those magazines are pretty much revolved around mainstream electronic music. We have mags like Mushroom Mag and some others, which are specifically for psy/prog trance. And they do have a decent volume. But yes, it would be a nice idea to give it a bigger picture eventually.

Another point could be that.... They would'nt want to consider a music genre that sells less than 1000 copies, seriously. They prolly consider it a joke, from a music business wise. So moral of the story is, buy more music and stop downloading shit mp3 rips !! Then u might prolly see it coming up eventually, if u want to see it there that is!

I feel 2 ways. Obviously quite annoying that theres no tutorial about psytrance in ComputerMusic, because it would be great for everyone beginning. But also it makes me quite pleased. The one thing i love about Psytrance is that it is still extremely underground, and is one of those music that you really have to go out of your way to find out about (well in the UK atleast) If music becomes too commercial i begin to go off it, for example Dubstep emerged a few years ago, and i loved it. Now its really commercial and gets played everywhere and on the radio, and ive really gone off it.

I don't want people to find out about psy-trance from a magazine. Unless it's a psy-trance magazine, of course. lol.

I want people to go through their trials, journeys and adventures to discover psy-trance.

This is part of what makes our scene special, because the people who involve themselves within the psy-trance scene and make it into their livelihoods do so out of their hearts.

This is how you separate the chaff from the wheat.

As far as I'm concerned I really don't mind psytrance not being mentioned more often in these and other magazines. Reason being that - in line with what Axis Mundi said - people aren't going to read about it, have a quick listen and immediately go mad for it. It's usually a journey before starting to appreciate our beloved music. And as far as production tips go, what more than isratrance do we need?

On another note, reading the may 07 issue - its certainly entertaining to hear infected go "There is no psytrance scene, it's only us" when asked about the US psytrance scene....

1) You don't make psytrance anymore. Get that.

2) While I'm not familiar with the party scene iself, the fact that there are excellent artists such as Chromatone, Mubali, Random, Ocelot, Quadra, Ghreg on Earth, Alien Mental and more coming from the States should account for something, no?
But I presume erez and duv haven't even heard of most of these acts or perhaps they're just looking to steal the limelight. Then again, why care? (see point one).

Boom!
