Was just thinking, why not have compilations with a few full on tracks and some dark ones as well? I mean - since alot of ppl say there isnt a difference b/w dark and full on .. after all its just psytrance.. so why not keep it all one VA compilation?

ps. sorry if this is asked b4, didnt have much luck searching!

DARK SOHO - Dark In The light
Amazing album just in the style you mentioned above. It has full on, Ambient/freestyle, dark teck. and that what makes it to a brilliant masteries.

About comps: imho its would be nice to see dark and full on an the same album. Journey from darkness to the light or from light to darkness.

In my humble opinion there is also a morning characteristic among some night tracks. So there are a few compilations that have succeded in building a journey that might start out with not all too "heavy" music who later on develops into full power nightmusic and then takes a turn into vibes of morning nightmusic (i.e. some tracks by Terminator are well suited for morning I think). This "phenomenon" is something I'd like to see more often because it is really nice when you want to listen through a CD straight while at home...

This doesn't exactly respond 110% to the question of the topic, but I thought it suited well here.. More of this, please!

Combined will just not happen. Take for example: Kagdilia Records has a 3 disc compilation out right now (Kagdelicious vol. 2) which is pretty good. Disc 1 is regular melodic full on and disc 2 has dark tracks while disc 3 delves into the chill-out side of things.
As you can see it's all been separated. And why? Most of the psyfans are pretty picky about their music, so if they favour dark tracks they don't want a melodic full-on track to accompany it. That's the reason most labels release compilations seperately I think.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

@acidhive - Makes sense, I mean if i were a dark freak I guess I'd pick up cd's from devils mind etc. Since I'm pretty keen on both full on and dark I think there are alot of ppl that do too! Anyway, thnx for the responses ppl

There are, like the VA Lights in the Forest, Voltage Unit and The Dissidents, for instance.

There are already somes compilations with both style, from dark and full-on or night and morning, but it depends on what you like...

I think there is also a lot of difference today between full-on, morning melodic full-on, dark full-on and the 150-155 bpm night, dark, psy - trance or how you want to call it
