Well, couple of years ago Fullon wasn't that big and rest of styles totaly flooded the market. So it will take some time, "Dark" is new ompared to "Fullon" and it still has quality issues.

@Superman

Go back to 1999-2000 and you will notice a LOT of the mainstream releases sound dark and gloomy - That was probably due to the music from 97-98 being far to happy and naive.

So, I think you will see much more dark music in the future - It comes and goes. Happy & Naive Vs Gloomy & Pretentious (to make both sound bad - I love both actually) hehe.

Its like you dont like to eat the same kind of candy all the time

Best Wishes

@psychedelia - same here man .. even i dont see why people feel the need to segregate trance .. i find it really really wierd ..

Btw superman back to your question .. i think night time or (dark) takes some time to grow into you while morning or say (full on) will in general appeal to wider audience coz it immediately appears more overwhelming than ( dark) and the chances of (full on) appealing to a newbie are much higher than in the case of (dark)

maybe i might be wrong here but i also feel the number of people using x or mdma are more in number in comparison to the lysergics

Was just thinking, why not have compilations with a few full on tracks and some dark ones as well? I mean - since alot of ppl say there isnt a difference b/w dark and full on .. after all its just psytrance.. so why not keep it all one VA compilation?

ps. sorry if this is asked b4, didnt have much luck searching!

There are hardly compilations with fullon and darkpsytrance tracks gathered on 1CD. There are few reasons at leats.
Fullon artist are singed to rather fullon orientated labels, same goes to dark artist who are with dark labels. So in that case it's pretty hard to find compilations with both of'em on a cd.
Another thing is, people who think that there is no difference beetwen fullon and dark stuff, I assure you they know shit about psychedelic trance. It's like saying: there is no diference beetwen minimal trance and eurotrance...at last all it's trance, haa?
I would never buy a compilation which gathered fullon and dark stuff, and it's not becouse i prefer one style more then other one, but i just like when there is regularity on a cd. Fullon is fullon, dark is dark. If i want dark stuff ill buy compilation only with it.

Probably becouse fullon stuff is made to dance, dark to crash your brain
Guess people prefer to dance to the music, then having their brain fucked

I like dark, I like full on too.
There's a mix of both since we love to segregate it. So be happy and just listen to what you get your hands on!

Why do you need regularity? Isnt variation the best part of trance? I enjoy changing basslines in tracks (Heck I wouldnt mind them in different tracks as well), different feel to an album. I knoiw maybe on a business point of view it may not work - thats only cos we've followed that DARK trance has to remain one compilation and Morning in another..Fusion of both 'types' would be fun, even just a few tracks here n there!

I don't like regularity in meaning that tracks on a CD sounds almost the same.
The thing is that i dont want to mess styles.
Dejan/Toxic/Parasense etc with Astrix/Delirious/ and so on...on a CD ?
No way I don't want it.

1 track may contains elements from both styles, this could be fun and some kind of experiment. But 5 dark/5fullon trakcs on a CD isnt good idea i think.

The best example how artist may join those styles is "Manifold - Time for the Heist"
Masterpiece!!!

I dunno - I think the idea of having a few different styles of trance is really exploring both 'sides' to it. I guess realistically speaking - It just won't happen.
