The people are sitting without being offensive or abusive to the police and all of a sudden the police reacts like that!?!?!
This reminds me of G8 police problems in Genoa, Italy. But this is, actually, worse!!

I'm sorry for the organisation of this festival, BUT YOU SUCK!!!!
If you organise so much people from so many countries to work at your festival you must warn them for the possibillity that the festival could be canceled by the cops because the paperwork for this festival was not good. It was the last festival that I will do of freaky dragons, i allways heard about this organisation that there were things that always went wrong, now i saw it with my own eyes.
I came all the way from Belgium to work at this festival, They promised me 5 days of shelter, food en drinks so I left with not much money, turned out that we only got 2 days of food en drinks. It was very fucked up because we hadn't any money. I'm very pissed off that i spend my vacation to go to spain for this.
And by the way: Although I was supposed to work there, NOBODY from the organisation told me personaly what was going on... We allways heard things from other people, very unresponsible!!!!

so justin when you're having the shit beaten out of you by a group of thugs you're going to tell the cops to "f*ck off you c*nts"? yes they can be bastards, believe me i've suffered at the hands of spanish police, when we both lived in barcelona, leading me to being hospitalised and also at the hands of thai police, the best part of 24 hours tripping my nuts off being beaten across the shins by a psychotic thai cop...so i think i have a right to pass judgement on the police and just like the rest of the human race some are sadistic arseholes and some just do the job because they feel they're serving society in a good way. but it does seem like in this instance they were complete c*nts and totally overreacted...

I´m completely amazed...by this post. Of course the situation of the police, yes it was more than horrid. But the attitude i saw in this forum. Oh god, we´re loosing the point completely. First accepting the police reaction as a normal police behaviour. Yes they are police, but they should fucking work for us. We are trying to change this world, and this is one of the things we should fight for.
So if i cannot celebrate without a government permmission, and the law is structured so is hardly impossible to get that permission, that means i cannot celebrate. FUCK OFF!!! I´m not accepting that at all. I want to celebrate ´couse is my right. I´m going to try until the very end my friends. Otherwise i rather quite this silly slavery life.
I want to send our full support to the Dragon Hunters Org. from Delisyd, Ganesha Space Garden and The Frogz. And that doesn´t mean that i don´t feel sorry for those who had paid travels, blablabla...is part of the game, shame, but it is like that. And for the way that all this policy looks like in the near future, it is not going to be much different, so be ready. Or wait to go for a very comfortable and safe festival, so then you can complain for this or that.
It is really desolating the way the organizers are left alone when this things happens. More when you see all that FAKE support before the festival, so you can be "part of the thing".
I saw the video...and i want to support that post of:

Who's we precisely? A bunch of idiots trying to stop Spanish Police? They were doing their job and no matter how bad you make them out to be, they were doing their job. A bunch of stupid freaks sitting on the road will not stop the Spanish Police, it never has done and it never will. Learn a lesson from this. It is a socialist country, and that in itself tells you, don't f**k with the police . Sitting in front of them is something NO Spanish person would do, so who the f**k are these dirty hippies who think 50 people can change the laws?

NO, you cannot celebrate on Nationa Trust ground where the Mayoress says NO. What part of NO do you not understand?

It's not like that at all. Why should people pay air fair and other travel expenses to go somewhere advertised as a sorted festival to be turned away and then have people like you tell them it's part of a game?

You really should upload those movies on Youtube with some popular searchterms such as "police brutality" and then it becomes a hit and then there will be talked about "this you tube hit" in the newspapers and then the cops will be identified and brought to justice.
They abused their power.

I wasnt there and i dont know how brutal was the police and whether they asked kindly or rude or didnt asked at all the people to move out of the road so that they could do their job.
All i know though and what i also saw from the pictures a forum member uploaded here is some people blocking the road (and not just sitting on one side of it like someone mentioned) by sitting in the middle of the road and not allowing the transportation of the police trucks or at least making their job and movement difficult.
So in any case we got the people doing something illegal in the first place (not to mention about the whole festival thing that was not only illegal but insulting to the local authorities) and the police reacting to it with their own way under circumstances that only the people that where there know exactly.
In any case some blame goes to the police and some to the people sitting in the middle of the street.
By my own experience of being in football stadiums,music festivals,political gatherings,union strikes and even parties that got busted by big police forces and where trouble occured i can admit in public that very rarely someone got hit by the police without looking for trouble,i mean i doubt the police hit other people around the festival area apart those that made their life difficult.
And to finish with this post i can remember my self in Madrid two years ago and in Compostela three years ago for some football matches of my team where me and other fans were escorted by the Spanish police (which was indeed very strict and difficult to deal with) but even though some of us were provocative noone was hit or hurted except some people that just didnt follow their orders.
So when a police officer clearly wants to cross the road and you sit in front of it blocking it then you are clearly looking for trouble and i honestly doubt that the police didnt at least said to move your ass out of the road before hitting you.
I am preety sure an officer asked kindly or not so kindly to move out of the road but his order was disregarded and thats why the fights broke up.
Spanish police like the Italian Carabinieri are not very easy going and you shouldnt expect them to open a conversation with you especially when you are a foreigner in their land involved in an illegal activity.They will say something once or at least show you their intentions and either you follow their orders or you got trouble.
In our case some people got trouble so part of the blame in my humble opinion falls to them also.
