I don't know, but this female DJ feels wrong. To cute and nice. I don't know. I don't know. Something is wrong. She proberly spins killah sweet full-on. But something is wrong. Is she a model, or a DJ? Maybe a DJmodel? lol

SofiaX & Gen. 6 ALL the way!

Edit: Ah, I had the impression of her beeing a "psy/Full-On" DJ. Looking at her Top 10 list, I must be wrong http://www.djsveta.ru/1/chart.shtml

well I think women in general dont create so much electronic music, look at Techno and you will also see the absence of women. most of women rolls in music today is in singing positions but not in the creating and the instrumental parts... how many women have you seen in Metal, Punk, Rock band (also black people for that matter)? I mean actually playing guitars? bass? drums? and not only singing.
I think the supressed genders and races - meaning not the white man - had less time or oppertunaty to develope and create which u can see in many other area's like science, poets, goverment, hi tech and etc.
and about women in the Trance scene, I agree that there should be more women artists but I dont think that they should be judged by that. when I go to a party I focus on the music, sure I love artists that are excited and passionate while they play their music in the set but I dont care about their gender, race, or any other appearance crytiria           "Hypnoza" 106fm (TLV) - Sunday's @ 20:00

well, I just heard DJ Lauryn (from Boston USA) play here in toronto last night ... and she blew my mind away!!!

The fact of whether or not she is female? I don't see how it makes a difference...

... dude, if u can write stories on this forum,
you're prob'ly old enough to get yer milk at the grocery store.

this just looks like one of those parties of people who never liked housemusic but after they found out all the nice grrls are going there, they jumped on the bandwagon ... and made one themselves with all playmates available .. this is a bachelor's party at best!

trust me, as a satyr, i know the essence of being horny
but this just beats all ideas of a psychedelic dancefloor

of course, if people go wild on the floor, lose it and get into a nekkid sundance, i wont stop them - but these chicks here are just there to be seen as sex symbols, as an attraction for the bored men on the bar

please

when the topic is about female dj's, why so degrading?
why so stereotype? why so fully machista?
is it really just about the tits and ass they shake or is it the higher ground where their music takes us?

then, where's the topic where we see the chicks
hanging around skazi's waxed ass,
or pumps dancing on raja's hairy chest?
wait till all the grrls get their teeth in that!

c'mon, the balance is already far to be found
due to the typical "progressive vs full on" politics,
now we have to suffocate the rest with sexism?

.. somebody please tell me i'm getting old
so i can roll over and catch some more zZz's

and do it is necessary irrespective of than she is engaged. he-he-he
a lots of people very much love girls djane, but skill and good show is more important for a dj. dont forget about it.

I think female energy is very important, and when its amplified by a powerful woman behind the decks, its a totally different experience.

The only two female DJs I've heard in the states have been Lauryn from Boston and Shai from India. Lauren’s one heck of a Dark-Psy DJ with an incredible amount of energy. Personally I’m not a fan of that kind of music but when I see a girl behind the decks jumping around at 150 BPM, it gets me moving too!

and then there’s Shai.... a product of the early 90's Goa-experience. I really haven’t met someone who is as driven to understand the magic behind goatrance. She's a spiritual beacon, a kickass producer (and one who’s motivated many to join her production), one heck of a DJ who spins everything from Goa-trance to Downtempo and a medical doctor!

I haven’t met many male DJs who have the patience and passion to do all she has, and that’s where I see the difference.

I'm all for female energy, its revitalizing.

---

For anyone interested, Shai is releasing 3 compilations on her record label 'Divine Balance Records' http://www.divinebalance.com/ as a benefit to start a research program known as 'Divine Balance Sonic Healing' which is going to study the physiological effects of sound on the body. She should have more info on the website soon.

After all of these off topic talks I will have to admit that somehow girl power behind the decks is essential. Too bad that our Ani left us some time ago... She did every time she played ....
