well, I think the scene do needs more girls on the line... not all, but in general dj girls plays in a special way, they have their own style and it is great to watch their performance behind the desk... so is good for the producers, couse makes people go to the party to have a good time and watch them playing, good for the scene couse can atract more girls too ( and boys of course)! And good for us, couse we are in less number and we dont have the same space in the scene... we need more space and more oportunities! hope who read this dont think I am kind of a feminist saying bullsheet here... but this kind of job (djing) touch our "ego" and it is not easy for the guys see the girls beening more sucessfull then them...
my english is kind of bad, but I hope I could send the messege...
about the beauty, it really makes things easyer... but like in other things in life it's not all! after the first impression people want more...
I think good taste, nice mixs, carismatic personality and beaty can make such a nice dj girl...

=D

IMHO it's not about having more girl djs, but good djs. Male or female. As a female DJ I do not like to be invited to play due to my gender . That's why I also don't emphasize beauty, as I want to be taken seriously for what I do, not for the way I look. Yet, many women djs do get to play for their looks. Realistically speaking, female DJs using their looks do seem to develope faster...

Here's some info about me:

hi to all the girls and girls fans...
i must say that no matter how you look at it avantually you have to prove your skills if you want to keep on working
and that takes alot of work if you are mail or femail, sometimes to be apriciated you as a woman even have to prove yorself more
in this man world... so a femail that playes and makes music automaticly i respect a little more... she really needs to over come some hard bamps on this road, and if she is also good looking that only adds to the vibe same as a mail dj !
good luck

well here r my 2 cents on this:
saw kioko or something like that play she was amazing. better than most male dj`s i`ve seen. elegant mixes perfect timing good build up.
our very own gula is just the same.
on the other hand i`ve seen to israeli female dj`s one most of u know and the other was from hommga don`t remember her name. both give a hell of a show and are reletivley good looking
(matter of taste i guess). only problem was the show was there to cover up for the lack of everything else... mixes were ok at the most and when it wasn`t wel that`s what the show around it is for.
so i guess what i`m saying is... it realy doesn`t matter what sex the dj is. it matters what he\she does on the decks......
and its a shame the crowd can except a lousy set just because
"she`s one crazy hot looking chick that dances non stop like a madman or (madmadam)."           if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

The only place where females should be allowed to mix is in the kitchen.

Well I sadly have to say that can recognize especially in the mornings (usually when Im playing) that some guys totally fucked up are just watching me and dont care anything about what Im playing. Its terrible feeling and I dont see it as an advantage./
On the other hand heart "top"girls playing and could not even beat match, but the same is happening on the male side also.
..so the truth is probably somewhere in the middle as always
but agree with More Girls not only djanes but also producers, decoraters, organizers...           www.oxygenrecords.com

you knew what?
the main thing that atracted me to this music and avents (arround1993 4 playing since end 1997) was the fact that the partyies was totaly androginus meaning that not like the club sceen the sexualety was not the issue i mean ofcourse it is alweyes there but it was not the main thing ,even the close that people was wering you couldent say thats a girls shirt or a boy it was evrybody on the dance floor are the same we all came to do work and it dose not matter how you look we love you anyway and sex was not the issue ( on the dance floor) and that is personally one of the things that atracted me
growing up as a tom boy i felt good in that tertorry and also that i did not have to dress up with fancy stuff and could expresss my non sexualety waill dancing so somthing happend over the years and sexualety as an issue is back i guess but if you think about it it is so nice that you are spining and people are injoing from your music and the sexualety is not the main issue but the dancing and digging. evrybody is free to think there oan opinion but still what gave the trance its uniq feel partly is the fact that the border between sexes was faded.
