I have checked on some of the psy-trance female artists/dj's to check something about their music and their projects but I don't know why, everytime I go to to their sites I pass most of the time checking their photos gallerys (sungirl, gabi, yo-yo) - and god damn, they're all pretty! i think it's really important to have those girls playing at parties, first of all because of the talent and originality at the most of their acts and second because girl artists atracct more girls into the scene - it's time to support and incentive female acts! what is your opinion about this? don't you think diversity is important to the party? - it is a silly topic but it is still important... PLUR

only if they really enjoy the music... and not for publicity!... the same happened in the trance scene... now look at that LOL... if they are acid monkies... always happy to surport!

I think it's nice that more girls/women are getting involved in a very male dominated scene (sadly).

But at the end of the day I do not really care if it's a girl or a guy that spin. It's all about the music. Not the person behind the decks.

The whole idea of the Dj / Producer being one with the people on the dance floor has somehow been ruined over the past 5-6 years when popularity eager Dj's and artists flooded the scene turning it into a start struck scene instead of what it should be. A scene where the music and the dancing is in focus. Not the ones playing / making it.

And why acid and shrooms are connected with psychedelic music? If someone doesn't like psychedelic substances, he cannot like the music too? I've tried all of that, and I can tell you, when you go str8 on a party, you can freak out more than on any drug...

And that's what makes the diversity and states the difference between male and female dj's - each one has its own way of playing, don't you agree??

no.

While on the whole I do agree that each DJ has his own way of playing and mixing style, I think it is uncorrelated with their sex.

For me, saying that a female DJ has an "accrued feminine sensibility" to the music is IMHO a marketing ploy of the lowest common denominator.

As far as female DJs go, I've seen DJ Amanda (MOE), Stella Nutella (Turbo Trance) and Miss Tick (FR), all multiple times and I enjoyed their sets immensely but I don't think the fact that they were female has anything to do with it. If you know these DJs you will agree that their styles are radically different from one another, actually I can safely say that I can't observe ANY commonalities other than the fact that they are DJs and female .

I do agree with you that more women in the trance scene would be a good thing but I don't believe that these potential fans would feel reassured by having a girl at the decks.

I will push the envelope a bit: I like dwarves. I find that they have a unique perspective on life and I think they would be a great addition to the trance scene. What we need is more dwarf djs (DJ Bilbo Baggins ) in order to attract more dwarves. Sounds kind of odd doesn't it?

Just my opinion...

Shrooms and booms go hand in hand. If we didnt have psychedelic substances, we deffently wouldnt have had psychedelic music. See the connection? And of cource you can freak out on the dancefloor with no drugs. Do you think I take drugs or psychedelic substanses each time I enter a party!? .. Psydrugs are for forest/outdoor and home listening imo. Yes, I love psy in both music and drugs. Any harm in that?

Edit: How many psy acts who has never tried psysubstances are able to make drippling trippy music? I don't think many can do that.
