Sun Project has actually been around longer than your beloved Etnica. Personally Etnica never was a favorite of mine, there always seemed better choices out there...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

But that was a Atomic pulse tune, and they hasn't been around for longer then Etnica for sure though
That track is from 2009. Didn't pass the old mark yet imo.          For Contact & Bookings:

That's what got me from these new Etnica tunes, no creativity, very well said Pom.

@ Felix : to me it's really more what peoples sound evolves into, rather than what's old and what not... in the case of Etnica I feel that the sound did not evolve at all, it's like they somehow try to reap a harvest from a reputation they once had, instead of showcasing why they have this reputation.

I stick to my opinion, and sorry if that pisses anybody off, but this sound is over, outdated, not fresh and quite frankly a disappointment from Etnica. With greetings...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

maybe it s bullshit but i think there is too much rules today for beeing categorized into one style of psytrance sadly..like full on ,progressive..it s just following some rules to fit in a style.
the undeground stuff is more open for beeing creative i think, as when you start flowing rules it often end with less inspired music.
that what was great with old electronic music, it was almost one style at first with full open creativty..then it exploded into different style with different rules, like techno,trance,dnb..it was the begining of rules and formating electronic music, it was the first disapointement for lot of guys from that time..for them electronic music was dead in 95...and then these style exploded again with their own rules (from goa to full on,prog,dark..)making everyhting even more formated and less open for creativty if you folow the rules..

My 2 cents worth of criticism.

IMO the tune is boring and I simply can not stand these predictable boring fullon'ish bass-lines. There's no creativity in reusing the same bass-lines heard over and over again especially in the fullon genre.

I used to love Etnica. I am sorry but today they lost the plot IMO.

Nothing to do with rules. Just a matter of taste and wishing the psytrance scene would reinvent the wheel.          www.beatagency.dk

to me it have do to with rules, cause these tunes are formula that full on dictate, from the bassline to arrangement. if one want to make full on he will do the same, the thing is ,when one wanted to make goa it could be dark or cheesy morning or even both in the same tune...now the rules are very strict if one want to fit in a category.
often we have topics on the producer section about arrangement and the tips are to folow a standart tune of the same style and do exaclty the same arrangement and progression..would never hapen with some goa..as it was more free for creativty.
to come back to the topic thats what these tunes suffer for me

Beat Agency is right there. They're unable to reinvent their music. That EP is symptomatic that they're completely saturated by number of psytrance boring tendencies.
They should better give a try to prog, and take it like a new challenge, because musically they're dying... Reminds me Electric Universe & Space Tribe who are similarly in a very bad shape.

Who is Etnica again? Weren't they a big deal in the 80's or something?
