try mk2 (mk2zone.pt)
you can have classes with someone very skilled in dance music production and i bet you'll more knowledge than in those mentioned schools, just because they teach courses directed to dance sounds and not loose so much time in subjects like miking voices and drums wich is "not that necessary" in psytrance.
still, at mk2 they're more directed to house and alike styles

Not a problem if youre running a machine like a dual xeon 3.4Ghz with more than 4gb memory !!!
Permits you to run your favourite sequencer in your favourite platform!

well it depends a bit , a good computer is a good computer for sure , but even , powermaac g5 running , for ex virtual pc , and running logic 7.1 with plugs , reaktor 5, and spectrasonics stuff , with all DSP plug etc , it might give u somethimes somme sys overload , not for the cpu but the HDD
im running 4 gb ram on my powermac dual 2ghz
and i really dont complain , but with lots of stuff even the best computer hang always

hi! i would never have answered in a "mac vs. pc" diallectica ... I'm a computer engineer and am quite tired of this subject, often the star topic in newbies conversations. But what the hell.... tonite I can't sleep, so here's my 2 cents... What I can tell you is.... most of the times it's not computer's fault. There are people with very expensive equipment that can't do anything decent... and there are people with a crappy old old computer that can do incredible things. It is all about talent. A friend of mine composes music with a Windows'95 machine, a Sound Blaster 16 and a mouse and the quality is better and with superior originality than some other friends with MOTU's, oxygen wires, hardware synths, TFT etc etc... about MAC & PC stuff.... come on, the ground is so common nowadays... same memory, same hard disk, same graphics card, same sound cards, same processor, same programs ... shit ! think a little ! |

maybe he has a very musical mouse... how many buttons in it? ps2, usb or the older thingy?
if you're a *REAL* engineer you would be interested in getting more power for your bucks.
and mac vs pc mostly means Cubase SX versus Logic and don't say they're both the same thing because they aren't.
since your gonna spend money in a computer, you should go for more power, since you are an engineer you dont need a fancy UI, do you?
btw, your friends setup is a bombastic compared to what some people here did start with: Ataris, Amigas, hardware sequencers, *real* instruments, etc... so who's the newbye now?
