mostly because: endorsements, they think its cool, they don't have the slightest idea about computers, because people like you get fooled by that, just PR and marketing, they need a serious consultant, whatever, i don't need to follow their leads after n years in the industry!

Yeahhh.. i've never got a mac but i'm used to having those around at work and mostly they end up as pisa-papeis or door-stops!
Seriously, if you have designer working with you there will be a mac somewhere. but usually designers are not very computers savvy  (some are)

nope... the biggest OS ever was BeOS and never got of the ground because of politics and economics. OSX is just mix between ancient Xerox Park Stuff, Beos, Unix, Next Step, etc, etc.

good news for intel since their losing market for AMD every year and they really can't get their act together and since Mac users are more interested in bright colors than massive processing power it suits them righ!
In my honest opinion, macs are mostly for wannabes, girls and people with deep pockets.
Wannabes wanna have whats good but cant figure out by themselves what really rocks.
Girls want a pc colored to match their curtains, batton and/or shoes (i'm joking ).
People with deep pockets have enough to spend and can be easilly fooled to throw money at the lazy people at apple.
If i liked Logic i would buy a Mac. Photoshop is very stable now in the PC platform so there's no use to buy a mac for it now.

fooled ? i really dont think so like i said my friend , i dont have much money maybe like u think , i bought this , because i saved a lot of money for i can afford it .
and apple idea to have intel , its because they want increase cpu power , since ibm didnt pass the 2,7 ghz barrer... and apple couldnt make the g5 powerbook because of the HEAT and batery than the cpu spend... so intel was the best moove they could do ... and period!
and everybody i know that have mac , its lots o ppl , they dont have nothing at all deep pockets...
and wannabes dont buy mac . they buy cheap pc's ..
and like u said beOS was the best ... now OSX is rulling , and yes osx its loot of common base system running on the background (with this i agree with u )
and u say that studios , school , universitys etc use mac just because its cool, and have nice lines ?? joao ,, for good sake !!!
and more one information i never get fooled when i buy something , i think first , i try then , and after i will decide !!
and seriosly it seems that this topic is not going anywere , because u dont want to accept one true , and i think u must have something agains't me , i dont know why or because , but its what it seems 
so my opinion is gived . im not going to post here anymore .

man, calm down, i've got nothing against you, i've said that before.
maybe if you cooled a little you would get my point, but you're too busy proving your point to notice other peoples opinion!
anyway, since the 80's people have argued what's better: PCs Vs Apple, and the discussion stil goes on
i favour PCs, because of everything i said before!
If i liked logic i would use one too
Just don't confuse things, XP isn't very used because it's great, it's a market thing, like just because GMS uses Logic and Mac it doesn't make it the best stuff ever.

..my guess goes that both are very good tools 2 work..and some are better in one aspects and others can b good in others, or one can improve better next year, and the year after the other tries 2 b even better..one thing is 4 sure: we consumers are the ones who benefit from their will 2 b the betters
and i fully beleive that there are people who enjoy one most than the other
4 example i work with drawing software with autocad, and microstation..and i like more autocad cause it is the one i feel more confortable with..i guess thix is one aspect that counts alot from the perspective of the user..the one he feels more confortable with 
and i must tell u something..i have learned a lot with your opinions!

next year when mac will be running intel processors both mac os and windows can be runned on both of the systems, so we will have people with mac running windows and people with pc running mac os, its just a matter of choice.
about all the other mac pieces i really don“t believe mac will be creating new hardware for the new processors, and sockets rather than using the technology already availiable, which means, that changing cpu mac will also be changing motherboards for the new sockets that won“t be much different than regular pc motherboards, which also makes it running similar ram and other affiliated componentes.

yooow friend...Protools and Nuendo are Audio and Midi sequencers too...sometime ago Protools versions doesnt have midi option, but now it haves (you know how digidesign is (: ...they cant loose so many clients only because they doesnt have midi in protools...now the problem is solved for the midi users that like protools)...but to be honest i dont like nothing the midi setup in protools (my opinion)...for me is much more simple and advanced in Cubase and Logic platforms, or even in other programs mentioned before like ableton live, Nuendo...

Funny...i was in ETIC and we just used Pc...we had one MAC in main studio but it crashed and was never used again in that year...
Bye the way...ETIC sucks - they just want to rip pple off - there are better schools around. |
