The most interesting release in many months!
They have changed their arsenal, took some out and added lots of new. The result is another masterpiece!!!

The album goes into different styles, all of it great material. The journey is somewhat different from their earlier releases. Its maybe more fun then some of their earlier work.

This is already considered as a classic and I am sure it will be one!

I give:

Microcondian ¡V 10+++
Trara - 10+
Skull Cap 10+
Rio Barra 9+
Fellowship 9+
All the rest gets a 9

Overall I give it a 10--, or a 9+++ ļ

No doubt the most awaited, and then most talked about album of late. The internet is full of talks and reviewxs on this.

One thing is sure, it gets everybody’s attention, you can’t leave it alone, even artists cant leave it alone, some going to great length to rant about it.

It just shows that these two guys have the ability to get everybody’s attention, and that’s already one thing that sets them apart from the rest.

To the music – I do like it!
It is not as profound a journey as – Entheogenic – or Spontaneous Illumination, it is more on a slightly lighter positive line. The quality is very good, some compositions might be called more mature then their older tracks. Microcondian is probably their best track to date.

It’s a great summer release, a bit early maybe.

Its fun, its quality, its just great music.

I don't see it as a good thing. I believe that if this album was not released by Entheogenic people wouldn't even notice it. Brand power is an amazing thing but it has no weight in the quality of music. The good thing is that I can always sell the CD for more than I bought it for because of the whole 'limited edition' gimmick

I just feel like I've heard all that music before, some from Enigma, some from Ulver, some from FSOL, some from million bar lounge bands. Not only that, it was done better before. There are good moments but I would say they are enough for maybe one or two songs. To pull off vocals in electronic music you have to be really, really good and in the album I found the vocals to be absolutely terrible. Last song is just irritating.

Actually the album is exactly as the press release -
Quote:

Planetary based visionary musicians Entheogenic have just released their long awaited fifth album. The ambient chill artists stunned and pleased with all four previous albums, but the latest release, entitled “Flight of the Urubus” is something of an awakening experience in itself.

Recorded in Brazil and Dorset, the album reveals the beauty of the Entheogenic realms and takes you on a journey through the divine dimensions. This peek into the souls of the creators is at times funky and upbeat, whilst being chilled enough to be a perfect accompaniment to meditation, journeying and healing.

The vibration has been raised with gentle vocals from the guys themselves along with their talented use of home made samples, making you feel as though you are at all times nurtured by nature herself and lovingly transported into beautiful realms of twisting vines and opening flowers.

Printed on eco-sustainable, biodegradable EDIBLE packaging.

are you kidding me? how much more pretentious can it get? virations, dimensions, planetary, visionary, perfect accompaniment to meditation, journeying and healing? Are people still buying this??? How about making good old-fashioned music? Somewhere along the line we lose the fine line between self-indulging and making art.

Sorry for the rant, I just really love those guys and I was hoping for something very special this time.

Entheogenic wasnt my favourite group in the past, . But Flight of the Urubus is real good, and puts them right up to my all time favorits.

The music goes into many different directions. I can clearly hear how their sound has matured.

Its, psy, its dub, its chill, electro, ambient, and makes for a great listen.
I can see it played a lot this summer, we sure play it a lot here.

Highly recommended!

It's boring. It's simple. It's annoying. It's certainly not psychedelic in any way. I had rather high expectations after reading some of those ZOMG 10/10 BEST EVER comments, but nah.. this one is rubbish. None of the tracks here would stand out from your average Chill Out Buddha Bar Shiva Lounge Vol.35 compilation..

I wouldnt go as far as giving it a 10/10 but its a good album. The move away from indian samples is a good one, also the new vibe is interesting. They now sing themselves I found it refreshing, might not be everybodies cup of tea.

The album is sure worth checking out.

Good release from Entheogenic, some very powerful tracks on Flight of the Urubus, Microcondian is an exceptional mixture of calmness and power.

My other favorits would be Trara great weird melodies, Urubus, Skullcap, Microcondian and Rio-Barra.

Two thumbs up!

Flight of the Urubus, is kind of unique in its genre, doesnt really have a genre.
Entheogenic climbed out and up and created another beautiful release.
This is kind of a new road for this music.

It has been said before, some amazing tracks on this album, some psychedelics and some just lovely nice relaxing chill songs.

Entheogenic always succeeds in getting my attention and my mood into the right place.

Beautiful!

I wasnt really aware of the magnitude of this, its taking up my CD player on an almost nonstop basis.
Cant tell what my favorite track is because it changes from day to day.
I would argue that there is a lot of interesting music to discover even after listening to it for several weeks. One of those albums you discover over a long period of time.
