LFO means Low Frequencie Oscilator, and its useless alone.
You need a OSCilator signal first, (sinusoidal, triangular, sawtooth) so you can drop a LFO on it and acording to its rate and level it will form a wav acording to your LFO type.
LFO's usually are sinusoidal, triangular, sawtooth, or random.
The most common on trance is the sinusoidal since it will wobble your signal up and down smoothly. |

why is it? i don't know... but definitely feel the efx.
"sync24 - mBorg" illustrates this wonderfully. a seemingly boring track... but listened to in this context and setting on a particular timeline journey 
became...
an exploded view most like an appple being shot at high speed with high velocity bullet allowing me to deconstruct mechanics and enter into a world not normally accessible sonically into something cohesive. with the acid efx. intact and coherent. but at a pace that was digestible althought still in3xpressible.
I don't know how many times the old 303 squigly baseline has 'reconstructed' my ego ever since way back when.... talk to any old schooler adn it always seems to bring thee back from the depths. much like a primordial signal that allows us to regernerate?  love in deepness....

Its exactly the same reason why men are attracted to women…

And same reason the kick and bass are main thing for tracks….
it's one of the main motives…
then the sounds "talk" to you...turns the track into a living creature...
