i'm a bit too tired of seeing the psy scene related with drugs, every other scene does it: rock, metal, pop, african stuff, electro, house, folklore whatever.
  roll a joint or STFU :) |

True. It's been like that for many years.
I think that's because this style of music/living has written on it the category 'Psychedelic' (Psyche = Mind/Soul) and (Delos = imitator like).So psychedelic is something that is Soul/Mind imitator like.
It should be noted that the word psychedelic was first used to describe altered states deriving from drugs. So i guess something with psychedelic written on it will allways be seen (at first impression) as drug like...
And the truth is.. Drugs are pretty much involved in the situation.. For most is not the situation, but for many they are! Many ppl go to parties because it's "the perfect place" that they know for taking psychedelic drugs.
But there are many that don't even touch a pychedelic drug for years and go to parties with their vibes.
P.S. The kinda sick & lame name that 1200 Mics choose for the tracks in they first album is pretty clear... A huge hit it was..

i agree to some point because psy trance arent the only ones talking about drugs...
comes to mind mr brownstone from the guns and roses, for instance, comes to my head and many others from bob dylan to the beatles to alice in chains to nirvana to cypress hill where drugs took protagonism.
in a point in the 20s joints were known to some as "jazz cigars" (supposedly jazz musicians smoked them).
also the beatles "yellow submarine" was a joint being the rolling papper coulored yellow.
those are just two examples from millions.
i'm sure that in trance events many drugs are taken but to what extent is that different from rock, metal, pop, electro, hip hop, and whatever else events?
and how many hip hop tracks talk about getting high, marijuana, slpliffs, etc 
sure, electronic music has been charged with those accusations, but those were the same acusations made to metal musicians, jazz, rock, hip hop, etc
i think it's mostly because they want to make our scene (or whatever is new) marginal

well in my opinion durgs follow almost every kind of mussic ,  and thats all
and i dont think at all they want to make our scene marginal .
but this is something will survive until the end or maybe who know like on (demolition cop) we wil have clean citys , no restaurant no drugs , no crime , no sex , no nothing !!
for sure i prefer to live were i live now

Lets be honest now. Drugs are a part of daily life for the majority of people. Alcohol, sugar, caffeine, chocolate and tobacco are just some obvious examples. Even most meat contains antibiotics fed to the animals. We feed these things to our kids and complain when they try others. The experience we gain from the use of psy drugs is different in type because it is a short cut to a state of mind that is elevating and includes an expansion of the senses. It can be done through meditation as well but that takes time and work. Maybe I´m mostly too lazy.

in fact, drugs are all around us, in one way on another..but understand, one is completely free to choose between doing drugs or not, wether it's caffeine or alcohol or mdma. drugs are just a chemical reaction in your brain, and u can choose to live those experiences, as safely as possible, knowing the risks, the doses, your limits..what u can't do is associate drugs with a specific genre of music, or a specific group of people. Usually, people who consume the same types of drugs tend to have an identic personality (similar ideas, way of being, etc..), but even that isn´t linear. For me doing drugs is like anything else i would like to do in my life, it's a life experiment, it´s something i want to explore, not as a way to escape from reality, or to elevate my consciousness, but as a way to understand how our mind works in such cases, what drugs do to you, and yet, enjoy the use of such substance, cuz it is pretty darn fun to do drugs. i´m pretty down to earth, as sckeptic as it gets, for me everything as an explanation without recurring to gods or any other supreme entity, so i don't see drugs as a way of reaching a higher level of consciousness. If u think about it, our mind is too powerful, your brain has the ability of distorting/altering your reality so much that it becomes unrecognisable. As an example, people who have specific lesions in their brains..someone who has a part of ,for example, the frontal lobe, or any other part of the brain damaged. for that person, reality is something odd, different from anyother people's reality. Drugs can do that to you, through your brain..and so, drugs can make u believe something far away from reality..that's why u gotta be careful..don't get lost, it might be forever. don't know if i made much sense, but it's my opinion on it

And those kind of castrations are not a distant possibility. US government is already working on vaccines to prevent drug use.
