Hi guys ...i'm a newbie here and i decide
to start a topic about free music download.
Cause copy kills our music but from the
other hand having a dsl save you serius money 
what's your opinion? |

when u download music...the only thing that u can earn is many fake tracks - bad quality and of course its a big problem for artists + labels.
its better to support the labels we like and buy some cd's. |

You dont have to be a dj to understand that downloading music causes a lot of problems to everyone.
Whats the point of downloading music when what you get is bad quality tracks (many times with fake names) that even have scratches in them?
I know cds are not that cheap but i would prefer me and my friends to buy each one of us 2 cds every month and exchange and listen to good original music that downloading shitty music through the net.
I mean i know 4 friends of mine here in Piraeus that buy each month ten cds with their money and exchange this music just between them.What they do is very nice and helps the scene also.
I wish more people were thinking like they do.

Of course download is the nightmare of labels and artists.
And it "kills our music" as absolut said
labels without making money from sells how will they grow up and make more and better production with new talents...?
But then, what can you do if you want to keep
in touch with all new releases?
A good solution is what Detox said,to make a group and excange music with your friends.
But that's if you live at a city,if you are at a village?
I personaly download some old stuff and some tracks that is hard to find,and I try to take from anyone I can original music

Trippy_Movek you might want to keep in touch with all the new releases BUT if you dont buy original music frequently then in the end there will be no new releases to keep in touch with.....

1st...not every album worth bying...(perhaps you don't like it or you hear it again and again and again in parties,friends houses, so when you go back home you want to throw it,or perhaps it's a good album but you cannot hear it more then 2-3 times)
2nd...you cannot buy every week 10 new albums
3rd...it's not very easy to find and buy albums if you don't have a credit card
4th...you can also find high quality tracks and unreleased ones...
We want better prices.....!!!!! |

or perhaps you like only one track from an album...you cannot pay 20 euros for one track...
and sometimes you cannot wait until you buy the album...you want it now...and with a dsl you can have it... |

hey detox when you say that your friends exchange the music you tell me that they dont copy one from each other?
this is not bad for the music ?
because i do the same with my friends i dont feel sorry doing that when a cd cost 15e minimum its really bad for my pocket because nobody wants to buy only 1 cd per month then the industry forces you to copy in the name of company money making.
i dont have anything with you dont think somethink like this im with you and everyone that wants to support artists and theyr music but for gods name make the cds cheaper and all of as will stay in a line for a half hour to by 35cd amonth all of as wants new music in our cd players

RAZIEL when you listen an album a lot of times its normal to not like it as much as you did the first time you listened to it.Anyway thats a cheap excuse cause most shops in both Athens and Thessaloniki have cd players that allow you to listen any cd you want before you buy it,plus all the online record shops have demo samples of every release to get an idea of whats into a cd.
Nobody can buy every week ten new albums BUT also nobody can listen every week ten new albums.Except ofcourse if you listen music just like some guys do while pressing the fast forward button in order to locate 'the killer tracks'.Music has to be carefully selected before purchasing it and also has to be carefully listened at home many times in order to understand it.
You said its not easy to buy albums if you dont have credit card.Well i would like to inform you that many greek trance shops have sites on the net and work with the 'pay at your door' system that allows you to buy whatever you want and pay when the cd's arrive at your place.Plus there are always ordinary record stores to visit and buy your music directly.
Why you need unreleased music when ten new titles get released every week?You have all the titles that get released every week so you need to satisfy your 'music hunger' by downloading even more unreleased stuff?I dont think so thats the case....
What do you mean when you say that you cant wait to buy an album?This is a silly excuse if you ask me.Patience is a virtue our ancestors used to say,it seems that you lack this virtue my friend.
EARTHDRUM who said that trance music isnt destined for free people?What you say is total bullshit mate and sorry for my language but i get irritated when i read such things.If you dont like buying things with barcode and a price on them then stop visiting the super markets and buying food,stop visiting the stores and buying clothes and stop buying anything in general.Earth was supposed to be a free place in the first place right?
Orange i explained myself when i said that i think its ok for my friends to exchange their music JUST BETWEEN THEM!I understand that not everyone is rich in our country and i also understand that cd's are highly priced in Greece.So when i see people that buy music and exchange it between them in a small scale then i feel that this is a nice effort to both support the music industry and satisfy the average listeners needs.I always liked balance in my life and this is a very good balance example of support music/satisfy your music needs dont you aggree?
And please people dont confuse trance labels with labels like SONY or EMI or i dont know what.Trance labels sell in average 1500 copies worldwide and Sony sells in average more than 1 million copies with every of its releases hehe.
I myself have a trance label and i am putting much effort and money in it.Why do you think i do that?In order to become rich?If i wanted to become rich from trance music the last thing i would interefere with would be releasing trance cd's.I just release music through my label because i love the music like most of you guys probably do and this is the way most trance labels work you know.
If you think that a trance label makes money out of its releases then i am in the position to inform you that out of 100 labels just ten of them make a good profit.If a label that prints 2000 cds (like 90% of the labels in the market) needs to sell something like 1500-1600 cds in order to cover its expenses(plus to sent 50 promotional copies)can become rich by selling 350 cds (IF THEY MANAGE TO SELL ALL OF 2000 CDS) with the price of 5-6 euros then yes every label on this planet is rich and makes a great profit and you guys are tottally right when you download music instead of buying it cause these labels are very rich already and they dont need to sell more cds......
Guys face the truth even if you dont like it.Downloading music is illegal and harms the trance music industry.If you think the opposite then probably you are not well informed about how labels work or maybe you just dont want to face the truth.....
